Chapter 1
Half Empty

Picture this, the year is 2055, and the planet is half empty. Let me explain this without it taking ten hours. Back in 2040 the world became overpopulated, it tripled from what the number was way back in the year 2000. People were living in stacks of mobile homes stacked almost 200 RVs high. They also had some people living underground in tunnels, even some species that weren't supposed to live in those types of conditions. So, to stop this, the government started a secret project, and for 5 years they blasted pieces of space stations into space individually, and by 2045, they had all the pieces outside the atmosphere, without altering the media. Once they had all those pieces up there, they sent a spacecraft full of astronauts with over five years worth of supplies to build it. It has not been published, but people estimated it took around four years and 6 months to get there, then about four months to put all of those pieces together. All of the pieces put together formed one, giacantic space station, which I don't know the complete size of. So, then they sent all of the astronauts back home to report to the main government or some shit. Then in 2053 they finished all of the papers and things the main government had to sign and do, and they started sending people to the space station. Get this, they didn't have the space up there to evacuate the entire planet, so they only sent up half of the population. So by 2055 they had everyone who was 'qualified' up there. And guess what, I was the part of the half that didn't make it in. So that is basically the whole long and short of why the planet is half empty. By the way, once everyone was up there, we had no form of contact with them from down here on the surface. Which is why they had no idea what awful thing happened down here.
