"Two households, both alike in dignity, in fair Hanamura...and Dorado, where we lay our scene, from ancient grudge break to new mutiny, where civil blood makes civil hands unclean. From forth the fatal loins of these two foes, a pair of star-crossed lovers take their life-"

"Jesse!" A soft voice snapped, stopping the taller male mid-sentence. "We didn't take our lives." He added and McCree laughed softly. "I know sweetheart, I'm only adding a little...class to our love story." He brushed his lips against the smaller males cheeks.

"Ha. Love story. Four people died. Hardly a love story...more of a tragedy." He said softly and Jesse merely chuckled, "It was really only three people, Hanzo." Jesse murmured in his husband's ear, causing the smaller male to twitch from McCree's beard tickling he skin.

"We have to explain the entire story for the report. Gabriel said that we have to have the report done by tonight so Jack can go through it and put it in the system." Jesse stood up straight, fixing the red serape around his neck and over his shoulders. Hanzo turned, glancing at McCree. "A little class never hurt anyone."

"Do you want to do the report? If I recall correctly, you've been procrastinating and putting the report of for 3 years now," Hanzo barked, handing the thin laptop to McCree, who grunted in reply. "Sure, if you don't mind me putting all the details in." He said, raising his thick brows up mischievously. Hanzo's eyes widened a fraction and he pulled the laptop out of McCree's grip, bristling like an agitated cat. "I'll do it myself." Hanzo huffed, rubbing his cheeks as they heated.

"I'll help out as much as possible love, I promise." He stood, taking the laptop in his hand as he leaned over his shoulder, kissing Hanzo slowly. Hanzo slowly let the laptop go and McCree leaned back, "Good. I didn't expect to do all the work myself." Hanzo said, clearing his throat as he walked to the desk, McCree following.

"So. Where should we start?" McCree asked as Hanzo sat. "I'm not sure," Hanzo started, breathing slowly before turning his full attention to the laptop now in front of him. "What about...the fight between Gabriel and your father," McCree stated softly in Hanzo's ear, who turned his head slightly to cast a sideways glance at his husband. "Which one?" He asked, a slight smirk tugging the edge of his lips.

McCree laughed, leaning back as he did. "Well...the one when Jack threatened that he'd somehow get your pa and Gabe locked up if they continued to fight," McCree spoke softly after the laugh, running his hand over the corners of his mouth and Hanzo nodded. "Okay. So, I suppose it started when Hana and Lena got into a heated argument with Amélie." Hanzo spoke, slowly typing on the computer.

"A heated argument," McCree scoffed, "Their fighting got Lúcio and Akande fighting as well," McCree spoke, leaning against the desk. Hanzo shrugged, "They didn't kill each other." He replied and McCree snorted softly, "They almost did. Doomfist nearly killed Lúcio afterward." Hanzo smiled slyly, his gray eyes flicking up to meet McCree's, "I nearly killed you as well."

McCree shrugged, "Maybe its a trend. First, ya' beat up your future husband, then ya' fall for 'em." He chuckled at the thought and Hanzo smiled. McCree glanced at the time on the clock before sighing, "Its already late hun, maybe we should work on this tomorra'" McCree said softly and Hanzo shook his head. "No...I'm fine for now."  McCree stared at his husband in silence before running a hand through his brown hair, "Darlin'," He started, "Don't beat yourself up over our past. It wasn't your fault. Blame it on our parents, we did what we could to convince them." McCree said, moving his hand from his hair to Hanzo's shoulder, his fingers absently moving to the right and against the archer's collarbone.

"mmh...I know." He said softly before turning his head and kissing McCree's wrist softly before turning his attention back to the computer. McCree chuckled softly and leaned down, pecking Hanzo's cheek before starting off towards the large bed, "don't stay up to late angel." He spoke, using an affectionate nickname that he used rarely used. "I wont...darlin'" Hanzo smirked slightly, mocking McCree, who glanced at him and chuckled before opening the bedroom door, closing it behind him. Hanzo stared at the door for a couple of minutes before glancing at the computer.

'Two households, both alike in dignity, in fair...' Hanzo slowly typed before leaning back, tilting his head as he thought about his past--their past. "It is a lot like Romeo and Juliet..." He murmured softly, tilting his head back and closing his eyes. Eventually, he sat back up and ran his fingers over the smooth keyboard, feeling the small ridges on the 'f ' and 'j '  keys. He erased the half sentence before starting to type, a small smile tugging the corner of his lips as he thought of his home.

Hey! So I wanted to explain a few things before I continue writing!

First! This is my first-ish Overwatch fanfiction. I'm writing three at one time, (Fates Bane, Lonely Water and What The Nights Are Made For) but will post at least half of this story (or the whole thing) before I post the others. I'll try to stick to the lore as much as possible for this (and future) fanfictions (though this fan fiction will have a twisted lore due to the Romeo and Juliet aspect)

Second! I love constructive criticism! Please comment if I messed up on spelling or grammar or if I just wrote something badly. If you have a question, ask away, it'll help both of us.

And, finally, why did I name the story 'Fates Bane'

I named this fan fiction Fates Bane because fate plays a huge part in this fan fiction, as well as Romeo and Juliet (Though Hanzo usually calls fate 'a simple/complex coincidence.). The bane part comes from the definition, which is;

Bane
1. A person or thing that ruins or spoils: Gambling was the bane of his existence.

2. A deadly poison (often used in combination, as in the names of poisonous plants): wolfsbane; henbane.

3. Death; destruction; ruin.

4. Obsolete. that which causes death or destroys life: entrapped and drowned beneath the watery bane.

And so the word bane comes from the second definition (Which is a reference to Romeo and Juliet and, possibly, an event that happens later on in the story.)

Anyways, that's all I've go to say right now, enjoy the rest of the story when I have it up.

You've reached the end of published parts.
