Evianna Sharora

Evianna heard the arrow cut through the air a millisecond before it found a home in Zachariah's shoulder. He stumbled forward and Evianna caught his right, uninjured arm to stop him from falling. He grunted in pain but remained on his feet. Once she had heard the arrow, she had feared for the worse. Zachariah had pushed her in front of him, and if he hadn't the arrow would have most likely hit Evianna instead.

She turned back to Sylvia and Zeke who were slowing to keep pace with them. Evianna was still weak from her encounter and Zachariah was wounded. They were fast, but right now they were risking Zeke and Sylvia's only chance to make it out alive. They had to.

"Go!" Evianna insisted and watched as they took off into the darkness.

The pain of having an arrow in Zachariah's shoulder was dragging him down so she threw his arm over her shoulder. Evianna stumbled on her unsteady legs and under his weight. They would never escape the demons in this state. They needed to be in a place where they could lay low until the demons passed and hoped for the best.

"We can't keep going like this." She declared.

Next to her, Zachariah stopped and studied their surroundings. Evianna instantly became eager to keep moving away from the demon horde close behind. With their slow speed and the amount of blood seeping through Zachariah's black shirt, the demons could probably smell him.

"This way." He suddenly said through clenched teeth and started off to his left.

They half stumbled, half jogged through the lightless woods, the approaching horde growing louder. Evianna didn't have to be an expert on demons to know that they were headed straight for her and Zachariah.

Evianna panicked when Zachariah suddenly dropped to his knees. She was prepared to drag him back to his feet when she noticed his hands, searching the ground desperately for something. His hand wrapped around what looked like a handle, and he pulled it with his good arm. Evianna crouched next to him to help, yanking at the handle. The ground suddenly lifted up, revealing a dark hole beneath.

"Get in," Zachariah instructed, carefully removing his bag and dropping it inside with a soft thud.

Evianna quickly obeyed, lowering herself inside until her feet found the bottom. Inside it was small and cramped and she backed up as far as she could to give Zachariah room to enter. He dropped down in front of her and used his good arm to pull the door closed. Above, there was a glass panel and Evianna could see the starless night sky. A few moments later, it was blocked out by Shadow Demons racing by.

"What is this?" Evianna asked Zachariah.

Despite the limited space, Evianna and Zachariah still had room to sit. Next to her were two seats that sat sideways, as if whatever they were in had been turned on its side. A wheel pressed against her arm and it refused to budge.
