Trigger Warning: Abuse
28 years ago (No one's POV)
"David, we have to send her through the wardrobe... Alone". Snow told her husband, unable to control her tears.
"Snow! I can't just send our newborn child to another realm, alone!" He told Snow, crying as well.
"We have no choice! She will find us David, on her 28th birthday, it's her destiny".
David takes his newborn child Emma, to the magical wardrobe that Geppetto made with the help of his son, and he sent his daughter to a land without magic, where the dark curse would send them, and where Emma will find them in 28 years.
Moments later the evil queen walked in with her guards and one of them stabbed David in the shoulder and soon enough he fell unconscious.
Snow wakes up in a small town in Maine and she no longer knew herself as Snow White, she now knew herself as Mary Margaret Blanchard, with no memory of her husband or child.
David a.k.a Charming was in a coma at the hospital that Mary Margaret volunteered at, she visited him everyday, but never knew why.
This is the same routine for 28 years, but there's a twist, no one that was involved in the curse can age, at least not until the savior breaks the curse.
Emma's POV (Present Time)
When I was 16, I had just run away from my 9th foster home, but I bumped into a guy, about 2 years older than me, and he was so sweet, or so I thought. After about 1 year of seeing each other, he became violent and possessive, but I couldn't leave, he would find me. I turned 28 today, but instead of celebrating my birthday, I'm moving away, to a small town, where I will get even less freedom than I do here in Boston.
"Emma! I'm home!" Walsh yelled from the living room.
"Hi honey, dinner will be ready in 10 minutes". I told him nervously, knowing that he will be upset that it's not finished already.
"It's not ready yet?!" He yelled angrily.
"I-I'm sorry, I lost track of time, I was packing and I-" He interrupted me.
"Don't make excuses!!" He shouted at me, then slapped me.
"I'm sorry Walsh". I said to him quietly, holding back my tears from the stinging pain on my cheek, and the cut on my lip.
"Don't apologize! Just go make my dinner!"
"Okay". I leave the room and almost 10 minutes later I came out with 2 plates.
"Did I say you could eat?!" He asked me.
"No, I just... I assumed-" He interrupted me again.
"That's right! You assumed! You never assume! It gets you in trouble!" He yelled.
"I'm sorry". I hand him his plate and I threw my plate in the trash.
"Now go upstairs and finish packing! You better be finished by the time that I get up there!" He yelled.
"Yes...Sir" I said and went upstairs and packed, I also managed to finish packing our things before Walsh made his way back upstairs.
"Emma, move the things into the car, we need to be on the road in an hour".
"Okay". I told him with a fake smile on my face.
"I love you Emma, I'm sorry, but when you make excuses like you did, I have to punish you".
"I understand. I love you too honey". I lied to him, I want out of this relationship, but I see no way out.
After I put everything in the car, we left and we found ourselves arriving In Storybrooke, Maine at 8:15 pm. Walsh bought us an apartment online, so we came here first and met one of my neighbors.
"Hello there! I'm Mary Margaret Blanchard, and you must be my new neighbors!" She said to us, so full of hope and joy, wow... I wish I had that.
"Hello ma'am, my name is Walsh Oz, and this is my wife Emma Swan". He told her in his fakest voice. "Emma dear, say hello". He told me somewhat sternly.
"Hi Mary Margaret, nice to meet you". I said quietly, then Walsh gave me a death glare.
"Well, we better get inside and start unpacking, see you tomorrow Ms. Blanchard". Walsh told her, then pushed me into the house subtly. "What the hell was that Emma?" He asked me angrily.
"What? I don't understand. Did I do something wrong?" I ask frightened.
"Emma when you meet knew people, you have to speak! You were acting like a shy school girl! You cannot do that!" He started whisper-yelling.
"I'm sorry Walsh, I just can't help it". I told him getting defensive, then immediately regretted it. "I'm sorry Walsh, I-I didn't mean to argue". He grabbed my wrist and wouldn't let go. "Walsh! Please let go, you-you're hurting me. Please Walsh!" I started to yell, and he threw me to the ground.
"Don't raise your voice Em. We have neighbors now!" He whisper-yelled at me and pulled me back up.
"I'm sorry honey, I wasn't thinking". I told him, apologetically.
"That's right you weren't thinking". He said and punched me in the ribs, then we heard a knock at the door. "Emma, go find the bathroom and clean yourself up, I'll handle this".
I nodded and did as i was told.
Mary Margaret's POV
I'm 29 years old, nothing in this town seems to have changed, until today, I got new neighbors. Their names are Emma and Walsh, I noticed a cut on Emma's lip, but I decided not to say anything, but even though I don't know this girl, I have somewhat of an instinct to protect her, for some reason I... trust her, even though we have hardly spoken yet. About half an hour later, I heard the Emma girl yelling and I decided to go see if everything was okay, I knock on the door and Walsh opens the door with a fake neighborly smile.
"Ms. Blanchard, what can I do for you?" He asked me.
"Mr. Oz, I thought I heard yelling, Is everything alright?" I ask him.
"Yeah, Em dropped a box and it... Uh, it landed on her arm" He told me, and I didn't believe him, there was something about him that I just didn't trust, but I trusted her, and I had no clue why.
"Well, how about you give her my number". I write my number down on a piece of paper. "Have her give me a call, maybe we can get coffee sometime".
"That sounds great Ms. Blanchard". He told me smiling, then he shut the door quickly.
No-ones POV
About 3 months have passed, Mary Margaret and Emma have become great friends, Mary Margaret has been working up the courage to ask Emma about her bruises, but she's noticed that Emma has these walls protecting her heart. She fears that if she asks Emma, Emma will become closed off again, but she doesn't realize that Emma truly trusts her and if Mary Margaret asks her about it, she will be honest with her. They have a bond that they don't understand, but little do they know, it's a bond between a mother and a daughter.
