Stevie tapped Lindsey on the shoulder. "Lindseyyyyy." He grumbled and simply rolled over so his back was facing her. She rolled her eyes, yes it was the middle of the night but this was important. She started to poke and prod random points on his skin with her finger nails. "Lindseyyyyy." He grumbled again.
She'd had enough. "Oh for gods sakes, Lindsey!"
This got his attention; he nearly jumped out of their bed.
"What? Is it the baby? Are you okay? Do you need something?"
Stevie smiled. "Yes, Linds, it's the baby, I felt her move."
Lindsey visibly relaxed as he laid back down but he shifted closer to be next to Stevie. "How do you know the baby's a she," he murmured, as he marveled at how much Stevie's stomach had grown in the past few weeks.
Stevie ran her hands through his curls in a soothing motion and kissed the sensitive spot behind his ear, causing him to curl in to a ball like a rolly polly. She smiled at his antics. "Call it my mother's intuition."
She stiffened. There it was again.
Lindsey looked panicked again but Stevie simply took his hand and placed it on her stomach, her hand over his. "You feel that baby, our little nightbird's moving." Lindsey beamed up at his girlfriend. He did, he felt his daughter move.
Lindsey sat up and began to rub his hands all over Stevie's stomach, the baby seemingly following his every move. "Hey baby, it's daddy. Yeah, you doin okay little one?" Lindsey felt a hard kick at his hand in response. "Kid packs a punch."
Stevies shook her head. "Somebody thinks it's playtime. Oh no. You are not keeping her up by having her roam around my womb at all hours of the night." Lindsey pouted at Stevie, his disappointment evident. His hands stopped moving but he refused to let go and Stevie didn't seem to mind.
"Daddy, could you see if you can get her settled," Stevie asked as they settled back under the covers. "Mama's tired." Lindsey smiled and kissed Stevie's nose and forehead. "Anything for my girls."
Stevie snuggled back into the pillows, one hand on her belly, the other in Lindsey's. "Sing Lola to us, Lindsey."
Lindsey quirked an eyebrow and glanced at Stevie playfully, "Lola, really? You really want to expose our daughter to such a song at her age?"
Stevie popped on eye open and looked down at him. "Mmmm, you sing Lola for us and I promise you'll be rewarded for your efforts later."
