The great Queenmother Queen Annabelle was seriously ill and was in her death bed,when she called for her children.
"Where are my children?", I asked you to summoned them... She says weakly.
My Queen your orders were promptly carried out... One of the guards answered.
"And were are they"...The queen asked again
Just when the guard was about to answer, her younger son Bobby entered the room.She smiled weakly at her son and asked...
"What off your elder sister princess Anne"
'Mum', "I'm here sorry I was late"...Anne said when she entered the room looking very young.
"Come sit by my side"...The Queen managed to say.
Anne and her younger brother Bobby obeyed.
The Queenmother started..." my children, Darkness is pulling me out of the light of this life". 'I don't want to be the mother who left her children as orphans in utter poverty".
"I asked you to be brought here so i could do you an honour before my journey through this earth is concluded".
"Bring me the royal sword".....
The sword was quickly brought forward by one of the guards.
My daughter Anne...the queen mother calls.
'Yes mother', ...Anne answerd.
The Queen started again... "Take this sword.To you my daughter anne, ...."I bequealt all the township to you.
You and your offsprings shall rule them from this day and forever".
Anne frowns to this.
'Bring me the crown'.....To you my son Bobby,.... "I give to you this whole Kingdom and everything within it and....
The Queen was not able to complete her talk when anne rosed up sharply cutting short the queen's words.
"THIS IS NONSENSE"! 'It is most unacceptable to me mother', "If this is what you call an honour then may i beg to be dishonoured immediately!!"...Anne screamed
"Why my princess why"...The queen asked
"I am the elder child... Customary it is I who must susceed you and not my younger brother'....Anne says.
'Dont forget he is a boy and you are a girl'...One of the palace elder spoke this time.
"Beside he will soon grow in to a man".
She glared at the old man...." And is that going to make him older than me...tell me'?.
"And who says the throne is made for only the hard butt of men".
"
'Look here princes anne, don't lets us drag this thing far beyond the reach of our arms'.
"Accept the honour so your mother could go in peace"....The palace elder said.
"And she equally has a duty to make me live happily on this earth when she's no more".
"I repeat,I am not ACCEPTING THE SO- CALLED 'HONOUR'".....She barked angrily.
The Queen spoke this time..."what do you want my daughter...Tell me?"
"Mother! If i am to rule,then it must be a whole Kingdom and not just some piece of barren land"...Anne spoke angrily.
"But you are not a man"...The queen says slowly.
"I am a woman, I agree, but i am not going to indulge in the fanciful notion that men have a priority on leadership talent.
'The sure talent men have demonstrated is the ability to cheat and to suppress us of sex'.
"Who are men any way?"....She asked.
"You must know how you talk before us little girl"... The elder says harshly.
"WHO IS YOUR LITTLE GIRL"!' I am not a little girl and tell her i said No!!!
"Tell her i don't want to be honoured then".... Anne storms out of the room angrily.
"Call her back, i said call her back...The queen says weakly".
'Indeed you did,..your highness'.
'But she dashed out like lightening , just before your command reach our ears'......One of the guards said
With a weaker voice, The queen declared Bobby as the next king and to prove her daughter some how right...
She announced that amongs her children, who so ever bears a GIRL Child shall accend the throne and become the next Queen after her.
That was her last wish before the great Queenmother passed away.
