Back to School
Friday December 18
Dean POV
I laid there in bed, thinking about yesterday. I felt so bad for leaving her and not telling her that I was leaving. I needed to get back home. I hated lying to Tinsley. I should have told her the truth when I got there.
"Hey Dean, there's no more milk left. Should I tell your mom we need more?" She asked me.
"I don't care." I said. She just looked at me and gave me this look right after.
"Whatever." She said and stormed off. I don't care. She's the one I shouldn't be with. Tinsley should be the one who I'm with. Fulton was right, she is only with me for my fame and money.
"Hey Jenelle, you wanna go ice skating with me?" I asked and she came walking back into the room where I was at and just looked at me.
"Sure even though I don't like ice skating." She said. Man, what do or did I see in her? I got up from where I was sitting and we grabbed our winter coats and everything and then walked out.
We went to the ice skating rink and we started ice skating around. She kept laughing and smiling and everything and I just had the same look in my face as when we got there, annoyed.
"Jenelle, I need to talk to you." I said to her and she skated over to me. I took a deep breath. I looked down at the ground then turned around and leaned onto the wall. I didn't know what to say to her but i was just going to go with it. What I needed to say needed to be said. My stomach was in knots but I was ready to get this done and over with.
"What about babe?" she asked me and I looked out into the snow in the city. I took another deep breath. I could see her looking at me in the corner of my eye and it felt so weird and uncomfortable.
"I think we need to break up." I just flat out said it.
"Okay. That's fine. I know that you love someone else. It's that Tinsley girl, isn't it? I know it's her. Your face lights up when you talk about her and whenever someone mentions her name. Besides, I was just with you for your fame and money. I did like you a little bit though." she said to me. Okay well I know that was suppose to hurt but it didn't. I was still caught up on when she said something about Tinsley. "I'm glad that you want to be with someone you love. Look I'll see you at some point. Keep doing what you're doing." she said then skated away. That was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I took my skates off and just headed on home.
"Hey mom, I'm back home." I said and she came walking to the front door.
"Did you get rid of her?" she asked me and I chuckled.
"Yes mom I did. We aren't dating anymore either." I told her and she let out a sigh of relief.
"Hate to say it, but I didn't like her. You could have definitely done a lot better, you know like that Tinsley girl. The way you talk about her and describe her, she would be perfect for you. The way you talk about her, she seems like she is just like you. You two are on the same hockey team and I do remember you telling me that you two shared a moment there. Definitely says something there, don't you think?" she asked me and I looked at her and smiled.
"I know mom but I messed up so I don't know how she is gonna feel about me now." we sat down on the couch so we could have a heart to heart talk, I guess that's what you call it.
Tinsley POV
I woke up that morning not wanting to go to school at all. I was feeling better but I still really didn't want to go to school. I got up out of bed and made my way into my bathroom getting ready for that day. I walked over to my bed when I was done and looked at my phone. There was still nothing. I was really hoping that I would have something there from Dean but nothing. I don't think I'll hear from him anytime soon and I don't understand why I won't. Like why did he leave in the first place? I just don't get it.
