Chapter One

Hey peeps this book is actually a book that Im having to write for school so i just decided to post it on wattpad to.I know the names Niall and Ashton are in the book but this is not a FanFiction!

Once again, another normal day in my life of hell. Being bullied by the worst people in the world, and trying to hide everything I’m actually capable of. Nobody really knows the truth about me and my past, but I don’t either.

          It all started on my twelfth birthday, at the exact time I was born twelve years ago. Creepy, I know. Everything in my brain was jumbled along with my body, other peoples voices clouded my brain leaving me with no control.

          Now that I’m 18, I’ve learned to control my special abilities. The only thing is that that’s not all I had to deal with. Every birthday I’ve had a new extension happen. When I say extension I mean the tattoos.

Every year a new one appears on my back. So far I have a cloud, a flame, a grass circle, an animal that is half human/ half horse, and a wave. I’ve always wondered if these things were from my family but my mom always denies it. The tattoos didn’t come alone; each came with a special power. The cloud allowed me to read others minds( the first one), the grass circle let me control other people, the weird animal tattoo gave me the ability to shape shift, the wave gave me avatar powers and stop time, and the flame enabled me to grow super strong vines that can trap my enemies.

At a younger age my grandmother said one thing to me before she fell over and died right in front of me. All I can remember is….

“Evelynn you need to remember this. I know it’s been hard with the passing of your father but don’t let your power overcome you when you get it. You may not know what I’m talking about now but you will soon, I promise you,” she said

“But what are you talking about Grandma? I don’t understand.” She instantly fell to the floor at my words. Something was wrong I knew it. I yelled for help but nobody heard me. I tried to stop the blood rushing out of her head but it was no use. She was gone. Just like that; someone who helped shape my life passed right before me.

Just the thought alone brought tears to my eyes. No! This can’t be happening now. See, whenever I cry some issues happen, like sometimes my feet will catch on fire or my electric blue eyes will turn a black color leaving no white behind.

It scares me. Not only because I don’t know what or when it will happen. What scares me the most is that right now I’m trying to solve a problem on the board and I haven’t done anything for a full 5 minutes. Instead, I’ve been staring out the window. It wasn’t even worth a try; tears were already streaming down my soon to be soaking wet cheeks.

Well things just got suddenly awkward. Everyone’s eyes were trained on me like I was their owner. I wish I could just cover myself up with my long blonde wavy hair so nobody could see me break down like this.

“Hey why don’t you do your problem before the end of this year?”

I don’t even know who said that. All I know is that I couldn’t handle it. I sprinted to my desk, grabbed my stuff and bolted out of the room.

I didn’t know where I was going; I just knew I had to get away. Tears streamed down my face for the second time today taking my tough ego away from me.

The stares never caught me by surprise yet it always took its toll on me. Just when I thought things couldn’t get worse I saw one of the few people I dread of seeing every day, Kayla!

She has hated me ever since I moved here in 1st grade. I don’t know why but she always tries to make my life miserable. Everything was horrible! She and Niall ruined my life.

Then all of a sudden her chestnut brown hair changed into an almost neon orange color and she dropped down to the floor while her body started to change form. Right this very second I was witnessing one of my own. I ran as fast as I could towards her.

“What did you just do?” I practically yelled right in her now lion looking face.

“I don’t know, what did you see me do, and how much pain  would you like to be in?” she spoke in a semi civil way.

“This isn’t possible! How could you be able to shape shift. I thought I would be alone forever\” I said softening my voice a bit. Then I realized what I had just said and clamped my hand over my mouth.

“Sweetie you are going to be alone for forever” she said eying me the entire time. “Wait! Do you mean? No this isn’t. You’re a shape shifter too!”

“Well kind of, but that’s not all I can do. I mean I also have nature and avatar powers, read minds, control people, and of course shape shift.”

“You have all of that? I can only shape shift and Niall can control people. But wait! Who has the other powers?” 

 “I don’t know; all I do know is that we need to find out!” I whisper yelled, but before I could say any more my shoulder was slightly tapped causing me to whip my head around staring at the hooded person. I personally made the mistake of trying to take the man’s hood off allowing me to see his face. But before I was able to, my body struck the floor in an immense amount of pain!

“Don’t ever try that again!” he screamed. “I’m here for only one reason to tell you your task.”

“Task? What task?” Kayla said finally speaking up.

“Now that you know each other’s secrets, you need to find the others, and by others I mean the people that have Evelynn’s other powers. There are a total of six. You know three, so it can’t be too hard for your poor human souls. I must be going, but just remember I will come back after this task is completed.” The man said before disappearing into thin air.

“This is bad, this is really bad,” Kayla started mumbling underneath her breath.

“No it’s not, we will be fine! It’s one simple task we can do it,” I said trying to keep as calm as possible. Literally everything just changed in my life.
