Chapter 2
A young "purity" stared at the screen blankly, a plain white mask to the side of them as well as a stack of mathmatic and physics books. Tears threatened to pierce through the protective barrier and break through the skin, leaving dark trails down them. They kept them in.
Sliding on their mask, the purity "Opaque" rose to their feet, gently placing in chronological, colour and size order the books in their bag, as they are taught to. Walking to the kitchen, the "mother" pulls out a dull, brown lunch bag with a sandwich and an apple in. They take it and put it in their bag without caring of its contents, putting the shiny black satchel across their chest and walking out their dull, black and white to the dull garden of greys before them, the sky filled with nothing but smoke and ash from the old wars that "graced" the planet with its arrival, leaving over half the world unfit for human life. These wars were called "The Deprivation" and was of a time where there was no purities. No organisation, where people ran wild without order and gain.
The young purity often wondered of the "dark times", questioning what i was like and if people truly did act like feral beasts. Not that it matters, of coarse, as their days were already busy with school and studying. Every day they followed the same schedule, "Maths. Maths. Science. English. Cooking/Sports" due to physical features, the young purities were put to two different tasks, roles even. The smaller, weaker of the group was to learn to cook and sow, often stopping going to maths and science classes to focus on learning these skills.
The second group was to be educated, often learning on factory's and different jobs within factory's. Factory work was honestly the only job available. That is, unless your labelled a genius. If you are, you work in The Monastery. Those who go in, are never seen again.
Once the groups "graduate", they are taken to the front of The Monastery to be sorted into pairs based on iq, one of each group being selected as a pair. They are given a house from those who raised them, and given two young purities to raise. Those who have the highest iq of the system may get another child to raise after a few years. The couple of the graduated children will then be killed so there will never be overpopulation. However, the young purity didn't care about such right now. They must still attend school and haven't even chosen their classes as of yet. All they need to focus on at the moment is studying.
