Chapter XXV

Connor (boy powa)

What the Hera. Why am I in the middle of the woods waiting for someone who won't show up to show up? Ugh, I knew it was a hoax. They wouldn't have free lessons on making robotical spiders in the middle of the forest. That would've been an awesome trick for the Athena cabiners, though.

I looked back to Travis and he had the same look as I did: disappointment.

"I'm so going to get Chris back for this." He said with his signature evil grin.

"Right behind you, brother." I replied.

"I'm thinking whipped cream filled shoes is a suitable punishment, don't ya Connor?" He replied in an Australian tone. I nodded cooly and Travis snickered. I was about to head out of the forest when I heard an angry horse noise, whatever noise they make. Then I noticed it was more than just horse noises; it was a girl's yell too. I looked up and saw the two plummeting straight towards me. Then, the two started to drift apart, the girl heading towards me and the horse heading near the lake.

Superman time.

"Bro! You get the horse to land in the lake and try to break its fall. I'll get the rider."

"This is so Batman and Robin right now." And he dashed off in the direction of the equine.

Now I had to pin point where and when the girl was going to fall. She was coming down fast so there was no time to elaborate. I slid in right before her head met a rock and caught her bridal style. The impact of the fall almost made me hit the ground, but thanks to barrel tossing class, I was almost used to it. But one thing I wasn't use to was looking down on people I may have a crush on and seeing them in a bad condition. (I said MAY)

I gasped when I noticed who she was. And Drew was usually riding that dark brown pegasus, so now I was even more confused.

Beads of sweat were plastered onto her forehead and she was cold to the touch. I had to get her to the infermery before she goes into hyperventilation mode.

I ran as quick as I could through the forest, and then I remembered I had to check on my brother. I skidded to a stop and ran to the lake. Once I got there, everything was under control from the looks of things. Travis was on the beach with the pegasus, helping to calm it down. He glanced over to me and shot a thumbs up. I nodded and started running again.

While I was running through camp, I noticed a bunch of whispers and gasps. I had no time to figure out why, so I kept on running. But after a bit, I made out some words and phrases.

"Oh Gods, what did the Stoll brothers do this time?"

"She might be dead, and she wasn't even claimed."

"Yeah, but Stoll brothers don't normally care what happens to their victims."

"He's so gonna get it from the harpies."

Man, if Janaysha's life wasn't hanging on a thread, I would have loved to set those Aphrodite campers straight.

I raced into the infermery and all eyes were on me. But soon, two Apollo kids came up.

"What happened Connor?" Gracie asked me. She was the lead "doctor" at the infermery.

"I guess it was during pegasus riding class. Janaysha fell off a horse and nearly hit the ground."

"Ok. It might be a panic attack. Hopefully nothing major. Bring her over here." I followed her to an empty cot and laid Janaysha down. She still looked bad and I don't know why, but I felt like this was all my fault. Like it was because of me that her life could be at risk.
