Chapter 2: Visitors

I am no expert at creating languages, nor speaking them. So, I will try not to make everyone laugh with my attempts in the books I write. Bear with me. I hope you enjoy. If by chance I happen to be cursing someone out or saying something offensive please let me know.

I walk over to the front door with Stanton in my arms and look at the security monitor a few inches away from it. I gasp and back away slowly. I run into my daughter's room. I walk into her bathroom and shut the door. She looks at me and I put my hand to my lips.

"Ssh! Mr. Sky is outside with his parents. Maybe if we are quiet they won't think we are here. Wait?! What am I saying? How in the world did they find out where we are? Who could have told them?" I say all at once and April shrugs her shoulders.

"Mom, we have nothing to worry about. He can't get in here. I set the alarm and no one has keys to this house, but us." April says as Stanton coos while in my arms.

I look at my daughter and say, "Yes, that is true. I am sorry to interrupt your bath sweetheart."

"It's okay mom. I will only be a few more minutes." She says.

"Okay sweetie. I am going to feed your brother and light the fireplace in my room."

I walk out of her bathroom and close the door. I notice her fireplace isn't on. Her room is a bit drafty even with the central heat on. I click the buttons on her electric fireplace and it comes on. Her room starts to warm instantly and I notice her slippers on the floor in here. I pick them up and bring them into the bathroom.

"I lit your fireplace, but I thought you might want these. It is a bit chilly in here."

"Yes, thanks. I am getting out now. I will sit in here and wait until I am warm to come to your room." April says as I lay her slippers not too far from her feet.

She wraps the towel around herself and steps onto the floor rug. Her little brother reaches for her and she chuckles.

"I'm coming little bro. Just give me a few minutes and I will take you from mom." She says and he coos.

We both laugh as April puts on her clothes. I step out the bathroom to let her finish dressing herself. I sit on the bed as I always do to wait for her to come out. She walks out and takes her little brother into her arms and he laughs. I smile and she asks, "Can you please braid this thick mess?"

"Sure, come into my room. I will do your hair if you don't mind feeding your brother." I reply and she kisses his cheek.

"Of course! He has me wrapped around his tiny fingers mom. I will always help with him." April says as she walks over to her fireplace. She shuts it off with him in one arm then she walks out the room.

I follow her into my room and the door bell rings this time. We both ignore it. She sits on the small sofa in here and puts a movie on to watch. I walk back to the kitchen and make us both bowls of chicken and sausage gumbo.

April walks out of my room with Stanton. She walks over to me and says, "Mom, I was going to come get the food. You need to go lay down. You know the doctor wants you to rest. Come let's go back to your room. I will make sure Stanton eats and I will put him to bed."

"Honey, you don't have to do all that. I can put him to bed."

"I will put my son to bed." Jared Sky says as my house alarm goes off.

"What is the code?" He asks me and I glare at him.

Ugh! Who the hell told him where I stay?

Sahara Lynn walks in behind him and says, "Sorry, Skytran followed me here. I came to bring gifts for my niece and nephew."
