Just the beginning

"Hurry up type faster!" Jensen yells as I tap the keys in my keyboard furiously. "Bro we're gonna get suspended from the team if we don't finish this fucking assignment hurry up!"
"Shut the fuck up! What do you think I'm doing? Let me focus!" Jensen looked surprised but a grin slid across his face a second later. I wasn't one to swear but every so often it happened. "Okay okay bro just chill." He responded smirking. I smack a few more keys on my keyboard. "Done!" I look up and see the whole lunch room empty. "What's happening? Where is everyone, Jensen?" He doesn't answer but it didn't matter because I could see what was happening. As I logged onto the assignment dropbox, my phone and computer turned off and I could tell from that moment that something was wrong. Jensen and I  fled to his car only to see the rest of the school did that but none of their cars were starting. Jared was kicking his new Mercedes trying to get it to work. But for some reason I didn't know then, Jensen's beat up '67 Impala booted up quickly and he got us out of there right away. 12:36 PM March 29, 2023. The one moment in time I will never forget. The one moment that changed everything. In our community, it was known as the beginning. It was the last memory I still hold from before the beginning. But before I tell you about that story, I'm gonna talk about my favorite subject, me.

Saddle-ridge, Calgary, Canada. A place I never thought I'd end up but here I am. I'm chip by the way. Your regular everyday soccer player. I'm 6"1', 14 and a skinny dude. I now live in saddle-ridge in a community that is made up of the guys in my team that survived the beginning, my girlfriend Alexa and her family and my family. That's it. Us against the whole world. Like something straight from a movie. Not to mention the slightly crazy ex war veteran Bory. Bory is the lead of this whole community; head of the police here when the police still existed and works very close with my mom who worked with him in the police. They run the community and basically are the reason we are all still living. But now all that kind of stuff doesn't matter. Like from a cheesy inspiring movie it's one for all and all for one. Our ages, community, height and everything that made us us stopped mattering three months ago. We all play a crucial role in staying alive. For example, Bory and my mom lead the security for our community (long story short, some people don't like us). Alexa and her family help with food and crops to keep us from starving to death. The other soccer players and jocks take care of keeping everyone fit and healthy and prepared in case we ever need to fight those people who don't like us. And I, Ive got the biggest job, keeping everyone sane and that's it. Of course there's no school anymore because that's all got put to waste and no one wants to go to the school outside our community because to many people have died there from other communities. But yeah that's us and our whole community so now to the fun stuff. Remember the first story I was going to talk about later? Yeah, well that's now. This is how humanity survived (or didn't... depends how you see it) the beginning.
