I finished my shift in a bit of a hurry. We had not played baseball in a while and it was something we all looked forward to especially when there was a bit of a bet involved.

When I got home, Bella's truck had already gone which meant she and Edward had left. I walked into the house to see that everyone else was getting ready to go play game. I quickly went and had a shower, not wanting to smell of vomit. After the shower, I dressed up in my blue and white vertical striped baseball shirt and dark jeans. I then placed a thin matching blue and white striped scarf around my neck plus black sneakers. Esme was waiting in the bedroom. She was dressed in a dark shirt, snow white coat, white sweat pants, black woollen gloves and white sneakers. I took my grey baseball hat off a peg on the inside of the wardrobe door and placed it on her head. Esme smiled at me.

"Does it suit me?"

"Very fetching." I agreed wiggling my eyebrows. I then grabbed her around the waist and kissed her passionately. She squealed, kissed me back and then we went to join the others. Edward was there when we got back.

"Em I'm taking the Jeep!" He called from his room.

"We're running anyways." Emmett called back.

Everyone was ready. Rosalie was wearing white three quarter leggings with knee high black and white striped socks, black trainers, grey shirt, blue windproof vest coat and a blue hat. Emmett was wearing a dark blue wool jumper, black trainers and black sweatpants with a baseball hat back to front on his head. Jasper was wearing dark jeans, grey shirt, black trainers and blue baseball hat. Alice was wearing a long sleeved black shirt with a white baseball over vest, black full length leggings, white knee length tube socks and white trainers with a blue baseball hat and finally Edward came downstairs wearing a similar baseball shirt to me, a grey shirt underneath and dark blue jeans with black trainers and a white baseball hat.

"I'll see you there." Edward waved one handed as he shot off to the garage.

"Should we get going?" Jasper asked, looking out at the window.

"We should but there's one more thing to do before we go." I said. Everyone turned to look at me, Alice smiled with a knowing look in her eye.

"Why what is it?" Esme asked, taking my hand. I turned to Emmett, he looked calm but a tiny bit confused.

"Well I'm under the impression that Alice and I are owed one thousand five hundred dollars." Emmett growled in frustration while Alice let out a peal of laughter. He vanished up the stairs and was back with fistfuls of notes which he shoved at both myself and Alice. Jasper pulled Alice close.

"Alice can get hers through sexual favours." He said, teasingly. Alice giggled, kissing his cheek.

"Well I cannot and really do not want. So where's my money?" Jasper rolled his eyes and went upstairs then came back downstairs with some money which he handed over. I took it and placed it all in a drawer of a cabinet. We all went outside where we ran together through the trees. The scent of our last trip had long gone, gone with the last rains since we played. However we knew where we were going. Emmett and Jasper were racing each other there, pushing and shoving each other. Alice and Rosalie were chatting about another planned shopping trip over the next few weeks. This left myself and Esme who ran at a leisurely pace, behind the others. We didn't talk, we just ran and listened to the four of them enjoying themselves. It was nice.

When we got to the clearing, I started marking the bases. Alice had the baseball in her hand and Jasper had the bat. He dropped the aluminium bat in the ground and the pair started tossing the ball to each other. As I was marking the base, I heard something like a sharp laugh of pure joy from further out. I blinked and looked up. Everyone else had been startled by the sound too. I continued to mark bases and when I had finished, Edward and Bella had joined. Alice dashed over to them and took Emmett's hand. I could hear them talking but I walked over to my position. We had already decided teams. The others joined as well, taking up their positions until just Esme and Bella remained talking in quiet tones as they walked towards us. I stretched my arms while everyone took their position. Esme and Bella stopped at the edge of the pitch.
