This is a hellhole. But not any hellhole, it's my hellhole.

I decided that I have to get out of here. The guards aren't the smartest, and I could make a run for it the next time one of them took me to the rec. room. But that pressurized triggered door would be a problem. I've tried eating an abundance of food, but the grey slop they give me is "specially made" so that I would be full for a long time after eating only a small amount.

If I wait until a guard is entering or leaving at the same time I run for the door, maybe I can make it outside. Outside. I can't even imagine what it's like. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

Larry, one of the bigger, stupider guards led me down the hall to the training room. "Now, A, I want you to take it easy today on the running." Well sorry, Lare, but I don't think I am capable of meeting your expectations today.

"Alright, thanks for the update." I gave Larry a big toothy smile, and he looked at me uncertainly. Of course, he would suspect something out of my unusual behavior. I looked away and flashed an irritated glance at the wall, and out of the corner of my eye I saw Larry nod. Good.

As soon as we reached the training room, Larry rummaged in his pocket for a set of keys, leaving me two arms against one.

I basically spazzed out and flung my arms at his stomach, leaving poor him doubled over, wincing. I took the opportunity and sprinted down the hall towards where I knew my closest escape was.

I prayed to God that one of the stupid guards would manning the entrance, and I guess God heard my pleas. Tristan, a 45 year old man with heart disease stood by the door. He turned his head and a look of horror flashed across his face as I ran straight towards him. I stopped dead on the pressurized plate, and Tristan, like I hoped, hobbled as quick as he could over to me. Before he could gain his senses, he was on the trigger, and his weight plus mine was enough to open the door.

I leaped out the metal doors and was met with a blinding light.

"Well, damn."

My eyes adjusted to the sun and I took a quick look around. The guards would be right on my heels, but everything around me was too powerful to avert my eyes from. Or maybe it was that I had no clue where to go. Grass and pavement stretched on for miles, and there wasn't a building in eyesight.

I started off down the wide road, and I could hear the metal doors open and close behind me.

"A!"

"A, stop!"

"A, you don't know what you're getting into!" That one stopped me. I turned around, heart racing, "What the f-"

He moved so fast I didn't have time to react. I was pinned to the ground, his heart beating hard on my back. Surprised, I didn't know what to say. But he did.

"Now what did you think you would accomplish by running away?"

His words wrapped around my body and sunk right into my mind. What was I going to do? I had no idea where I was going, and even if I did end up in some little town, I had no money to buy anything.

"I don't really know..." I said through mouthfuls of dirt. "Can you just get off of me?"

My capturer loosened his grip on my arms and let me climb to my feet. I turned to face him.

He was pretty hot, I guess. His dark brown hair fell loosely over matching eyes. He was a hell of a lot taller than me, but it was a good ratio. A thin black t-shirt hid his muscular body and the black uniform pants fit comfortably on his legs. His jaw was tight, as if he was trying to process something in his mind, but he shrugged it off and tightened his hold on my arms.
