Prologue

"Get off of me!" I yell through huffs of breathe as the Titan wrapped his arms around me.

"We've got one." He yelled to his leader. No this can't be happening, think! A man, running. Arms pumping, feet flying back and forth.

"Get off her." The guy in my vision, he was here. He wrapped his arm around the Titan's neck allowing him very little breath. The Titan's grip around my torso started loosening until he was no longer holding me.

"Come on!" I yelled to the man.

"Duck." He yelled back. A bullet came flying over my head, a quick swift motion that could have killed me.

Chapter 1

I tune back in to class when my teacher calls my name. "Kadri, would you like to explain to me what happened during this time?"

"Uhm," answers are racing through my head, dont let them know I remember. That I know everything. "I'm sorry Ms. Payer, I dont know," is what quickly sprawls out of my mouth.

"I figured." She says rolling her eyes. "During this time, we created the line of isolation to protect ourselves. You should all know very well to stay far away from the wall." Shes says ranting on about pointless information.

The hunters have studied us for years. They know how our brains work. What our brains are capable of. They have been hunting us since before I existed. No one knows that we exist, they've all been told that the line of isolation protects us from what's on the other side. They've never been told what is on the other side. But I know, it's the Adriots. My kind. The government doesn't even know what's over the line because the hunters won't allow them to know. The hunters have a very particular set of skills to get the job done. My mom used to tell me stories. They are known as Titans. They are stronger than the normal human and 10 times as smart. They are fast and have an amazing memory. Their brains can hold a huge load of information.

But Adriots can tell the future. They are fast and capable of almost anything. I haven't learned what I'm capable of. My mom didn't allow me to use my powers when I was little, so I never tried. I just got the occasional flash of the future. Before my mom was hunted and killed she brought me over the line of isolation to keep me safe. I had to learn to fit in so I never got the chance to use my powers. It was the only way I could be disguised. The Titans would never think there could be an Adriot on the other side. But there is, I want to go to the other side, for my mother. I want to seek revenge on the people that killed her. But that'd be nearly impossible.

Minutes later the bell rings signaling the end of the school day. I walk out of the class room and I'm ambushed by my bestfriends Vincent and Elijah. They tackle me to the floor tickling me until I can no longer breathe.

"Get off!" I shout through giggles.

"Not until you say you'll buy us ice cream." Vincent prompts.

"Fine." We all get up and start walking towards the exit of the building. My chest is still heaving up and down as I try to catch my breath. I look around and notice that almost everyone has left. No one walking down the hall ways at all like it normally is after school gets out.

As we walk down the side walk on Realvn Street I notice the edges of the cement deteriorating.

"Come on!" Vincent says as he starts crossing the road. A red corvette speeding down Realvn flashes into my head. I jump out and pull Vincent back just before the car races down the street.

"How'd you know that was coming?" He questioned wide eyed, panting like a little puppy. His green eyes glistening in the sun light.

"Uhm I dont know." I say cluelessly. Maybe because I'm fricken crazy. Im a Adriot for gods sake. But he would never understand. He wouldn't see me the same. Neither would Eli. And they are the only people I have.
