Lizzie's POV
"We're finally here!!!" Lyra screamed in excitement on the plane. Next to me Noreyna whooped, Kylie jumped up and down in excitement and Mel danced. I grinned. After 3 months of toiling, us drama kids were off to New York for Nationals and as a reward, our school gave us money for us to stay in a four star hotel. It was blissful. If we won, I could get to stay in the Academy for another year. I needed that win. Just then, Nathan, our instructor, walked forward.
"All right kids," he started. "Remember, this is important. And as always, we are gonna bring back that trophy. Right?"
"Right!" we yelled in unison.
2 hours later...
We opened the door to our hotel room. It was cool. A small suite with 2 bedrooms and a decent shower area. The walls were gold in colour. Now the fact that my school was loaded finally sunk into my brain. That and Kylie's dad, ordered an upgrade for us. Jeez that girl was loaded.
"This is so cool!" Noreyna said, leaping onto the couch.
"Yeah it is!!" Kylie said, clapping her hands and jumping up and down. Sometimes she reminds me so much of London Tipton whenever she does that, it's creepy.
Kylie then ran into one of the rooms and took a huge poster out of 5 boys and attempted to paste it on the wall. I groaned inwardly.
"You brought that with you?" I asked, really not understanding what she saw in those boys.
"I mean, their music's great no doubt but is there a reason to get all crazy over them?" I added. She looked at me with shock.
"Uh, yes! I can't go anywhere without this! Oh, they're so hot! Especially Chris! His fans are so delusional. They think they have a shot with Chris when everyone knows, he and I are meant to be." She said, simpering. I slowly backed out of the room.
"Do you guys understand what she's talking about?" I asked the others, jerking my thumb to the room.
"Liz, it's no big deal. Besides, you know all of us love them. I don't understand why you don't," Mel said, folding her jacket.
"Because I don't do these stupid things like obsess over them." I said flatly. Lyra shook her head.
"I don't understand you Lizzie. I mean, you're not like normal girls," she said. I turned and stared at her pointedly.
"And what you're trying to say is?"
"Well, when us girls are out shopping or just going to the arcade, you're at home studying science facts. And when us girls read tabloids, you read Jane Eyre. I don't get why you do that."
"Well because, if I don't mantain my 3.8 GPA, I'll lose my scholarship." I sighed, tossing a pillow at her. She sighed.
"Fine. But seriosly, loosen up a bit and control your temper. No wonder guys are afraid of you." Lyra scolded. I rolled my eyes. We then took a shower, brushed our teeth before hitting the hay to wake up for training tomorrow.
