After Marco died Jean was now forever alone, and then Eren and Armin started to be friends. One day Bertholdt notice that Jean felt that he's alone, Reiner was fall for Annie and he wanted he and Jean to be MORE than friends.
When everyone knows about Jean and Bertholdt was being together they were surprised, Reiner and Annie know this too. They all planned Jean and Bertholdt wanted to be MARRIED.
