Chapter Twenty Nine

This is the day that I would have to face your daddy, baby. I caressed my tummy as I look at my reflection on the mirror. I have but a small bump in my tummy. Yet. I will make sure that baby will grow healthy in this mommy tummy. I smiled at my reflection.

I heard a gentle knock on my door. I opened it and saw Calix smiling with his eyes twinkling.

"Are you ready, babe?" He asked as he kissed my forehead.

I nodded and went back to get my purse. He followed me. He held my hands and he pressed his lips against mine.

"I love you, Alex. Knowing and feeling that you also love me makes me too happy. Whatever happens today, just always put that in mind. I love you. I love you. I love you. Nothing can change that. I will always love you."

I squeezed his hands. "I love you, too. Silly! Of course, nothing wrong will happen today. Will just tell Zeke that yes I am carrying his baby but I have no intention of being with him again. Later on we could consult for some legal arrangement on child visit and support should he wish to do that."

He just nodded and smiled as he led me to his vehicle. I really hope it would be that easy. No more dramas.

The coffee shop was only a short drive from home; about fifteen minutes. I already saw Zeke's SUV in the parking lot. Calix parked his pick-up beside it. We held hands as we entered the coffee shop.

"You're alone?" I asked Zeke as I sat on the chair in front of him. He was looking at our hands. Calix sat beside me.

He shook his head. "Kara just went to the rest room."

I nodded and before I could say something else...

"So, why did you not tell me that we are having a baby? Don't you have any plan to do so?" Zeke asked. His eyes are both sad and angry.

I frowned. "Of course I will tell you! It's just that I was still waiting for the perfect timing."

He slammed his hand on the table and shook his head. "Excuses! Maybe that bastard has brainwashed you already!" He shouted.

I saw Calix shaking his head but still trying to be composed. I thank God he did not say a word.

I put my hands on my face trying to calm myself. The heck! Who cheated anyway? Just like on cue, Kara appeared from nowhere and took a seat beside Zeke.

"You?!" Kara shouted as soon as she saw Calix. Her face became pale.

Calix's eyes widened.

"What, Kara?" Zeke asked surprised.

"That is Calix, Zeke," She said almost whispering while shaking her head then tears started falling down her cheeks.

"You know her?" I asked Calix who is still frozen on his seat.

Calix slowly nodded and just when he was about to say something Kara stood up and slapped him on the face.

"What are you doing here?" She shouted.

I wonder what is going on. I looked at Calix then Kara then Zeke. Kara seems too angry and Calix is too shocked. I can't figure out Zeke's expression.

"That guy is the father of this!" Kara shouted as she pointed to her baby bump, which is way bigger than mine.

I am too confused. I am trying to calm myself but this is just too much to take. My heart is palpitating. I hope Calix will say something to prove that this bitch is lying. I don't know now which is more painful... Zeke cheating on me and being the father of that baby or Calix truly in love with Kara and is the father of that baby?

"But you said that wasn't mine!" Calix said simply.

"Of course, I lied! Because our relationship was going nowhere. You were never serious about me. You just wanted me because I was good in bed!" Kara said sobbing.

"Calix, what is happening?" I asked sighing. That is not how I know my Calix. He told me many times that he used to be bad but I did not realize that he was or is this bad.

"Babe, Kara is the ex-girlfriend," He whispered with sad eyes.

I already figured it out but hearing those words just crushed my heart.

Then out of the blue Zeke laughed the most evil laugh and said, "I guess we have no more problem now. Let us just exchange partners! You see, Alex, I have never cheated on you. It's your dirty mind that is over thinking. Everybody happy now."

I felt tears run down my cheeks. I was hysterical. I stood up and slapped Zeke.

"Is that how you see it Zeke? My dirty mind? Is that how we can really solve this? Exchange partners? I never realized how shallow you are! Besides, you never really run after me. You did not bother to really explain. You just went with the flow and let me believe what I believe. I never want you to be the father of my baby!"

After shouting my piece I started running away from them. Calix was quick to pull my hand but with all my strength I pushed him. I pushed him too hard that he fell on the floor. I continued running. I cannot take the pain these sudden revelations brought me. My eyes are blurred because of all the tears that are freely flowing from my eyes. I am running with no direction. I just wanted to be free from that chaos. I felt a quick and strong wind pass by me. Then I felt an excruciating pain. I was falling down. Everything turned black.
