Inside this bag is me. This bag and what it looks like and the characteristics it possesses will completely describe who I am as a person.
As you know I am very into track and field and that is the first part of this bag that represents me. The outside of the bag is all you can see, so the only thing you can do is guess what is inside. Sure you can see logos and brands on the front much like the clothes I wear and the expressions on my face but you can’t be sure what is really on the inside…much like me.
The next part of this bag you probably noticed is the draw string at the top. Without this piece the bag would be a useless open sack that anyone could reach into and arrange things how they wanted, there would be no profundity inside this bag. I can choose to lift and open myself to let in whoever I please but only if I truly want to share my emotions with them. This draw string on this bag represents a guard from the outside world…much like me.
Once you finally get to what is inside you never know what you will find and sometimes I don’t either. It is assumed you will find a pair of track spikes, but what kind of spikes? Will they be sprinter spikes? Throwing spikes? Jumping spikes? Distance spikes? Or what color will they be? You have no way of knowing until you commit to finding out what is inside. The contents of this bag represent a vast majority of emotions and combinations of those emotions…much like me.
Once out of the bag and you lace your spikes to your feet the whole world can see what’s inside…this represents what it is like to run onto the track for your race. There is no hiding or deferring focus off of yourself in track like a snail in his shell, there is only the truth. Either you run well and show people your talent, or you show them your mediocrity.
Of course you can’t have your emotions out forever…once you take them out and use them for your race they soon become uncomfortable to walk around in and have on for everyone to see. So you take them off and store them back in your bag where they are safe until you need to use them again.
