Fairy Trouble

That night as I slept I had a dream. I saw that girl. What was her name again ? Akamori, if I remember correctly.
She was with me, and I could somehow tell that she was important to me. I don't know how, I just felt in my mind that she was.
And then the scene in my dream shattered to peices, kind of like broken glass. All of a sudden I'm surrounded by nothing but darkness. It was all just a big black, almost suffocating feeling.
Almost as if the darkness was weighing down on me. And then I was falling towards nothing, my nerves on fire and my stomach churning. I woke up as if the apocalypse just came and zombies were about to attack me. Somehow in all the chaos, I had managed to kick the little dragon near the entrance of the cave. He looked at me in pure shock, and just kept staring at me with that expression. Blinking his eyes every now and then, that is, until he yawned.
Then he just went on his merry way outside to do something. I followed him, it's not like I had anything better to do anyway. He seemed to be in hunting mode the way he was crouching low on the ground.
Not even making a noise as he moved. I'm guessing that's the smoke part about him, that makes him so stealthy. All of a sudden he jumped and caught a butterfly looking thing in the air. Honestly I've never really been able to see the outdoor creatures. Much less outdoors. So in all honesty, I was awed by every living thing I heard around me in this huge forest.
Suddenly I heard a little yelp. Almost like a tiny scream for help. It was coming from whatever was in the dragons mouth.
I immediately got up to inspect, shooting the dragon away from the butterfly thing. I gingerly picked it up and on closer inspection saw that the butterfly thing was actually some type of fairy.
It looked like her wing was broken, she also seemed to be cradling her arm in pain. I asked the fairy in a gentle calm voice so as not to startle her.
"Hey, sorry about my dragon, are you okay ?"
She looked up with her cute little pale blue eyes and seemed to angrily throw curses my way, waving her good arm in the air.
Her hair was pink and about shoulder length for her and her skin was light green. Her wings were like those of the monarch butterfly.
I only knew that because I once read a huge book solely talking about the wonders of butterflies.
Anyways, returning my attention to her I saw that she was trying to fly away from my palm. The poor thing seemed to be having trouble even standing straight. Once she saw that there was no way she was flying anytime soon she kicked some small debree from my hand with a big humpth!
She looked back to me and seemed to be yelling curses at me again. Before abruptly wobbling to the ground. She looked pretty weak, the poor thing. So in my lame attempt at trying to communicate with her I asked
"Is there anything I can do for you miss ?"
She tried talking to me again but I couldn't really understand her. She then pointed to her ear and shoulder and then pointed to mine.
I pointed to my shoulder trying to see if she was referring to whispering in my ear or something. She then nodded her little head a couple of times. As if saying yes, I do want to be on your shoulder, just like a pirate's parrot.
I slowly pulled my hand up to my shoulder so she wouldn't get whiplash or anything. She then climbed up onto my shoulder, dusting her knees off before moving closer to my ear. She then said in this soft angry voice,
"Your dragon is out of control, he nearly ate me!"
She then sighed and continued to say
"And he bit my arm, and look at my wing! Do you see this ?! How am I supposed to fly ?!"
"Ah I'm really sorry about that"
I said trying to calm down the furious fairy. She started to sigh again, she seemed to be really good at doing so too.
All of a sudden I started hearing little sobs coming from my shoulder.
"Hey what's wrong ?"
I asked as I gently grabbed her and placed her on my hand in a sitting position. Trying to see if she was more hurt than I initially thought.
She seemed embarrassed about crying in front of me. So she covered her face with her little hands and started to sob uncontrollably. She felt like a shaking leaf in my palm.
I didn't know what to do so I just used my finger to gently stroke her back. It seemed to calm her down a bit, so I kept doing it. Eventually she ran out of tears and exhausted herself out.
She then got more comfortable sitting with her arms resting on her knees. She then said in an embarrassed quiet voice
"Sorry about all that"
And to my surprise I could hear her clear as day. She seemed to be a mind reader because she started to explain
"Uhm, once you hear a fairys's voice in your ear you can, uh, understand what we're saying better, or so they say..."
She looked down to her toes and wiggled them nervously as she started to say,
"Uhm, sorry for yelling at you, I shouldn't have been so mean...."
"It's okay"
I said while unconsciously reaching out a finger to gently rub her back again in a sort of reassuring way.
She didn't seem to hate it so I kept on doing it, noticing a light pink blush spreading on her green face. It looked like she was starting to slowly nod off into sleep.
Slowly falling to the side she curled up in a fetus position. She looked like she was shivering from the cold morning air. So I being the nice person I am, put her in a pocket on the front side of my dress.
Gently placing her in the bottom of my pocket I reached in my other one and felt around for anything that could help keep her warm. I mean she was naked, she's bound to get cold easily.
Luckily I found a small half used packet of tissue in there. I quickly pulled it out and folded it into a decent sized blanket for the fairy.
I opened the pocket she was in again, and gently tucked her in with the tissue blanket. She immediately snuggled into it, making a satisfied sleeping face as she did so.
Carefully I closed my pocket and proceeded to look around for that little trouble maker.
He was near a big unruly looking bush, crouching low and looking ready to pounce. I immediately ran over and picked him up.
"That's enough casualties for one day, thank you very much"
I said as I patted his back. He just looked around while I was carrying him back to the cave. His ears twitching at every little sound, as if searching for new prey.
Thinking back on all the times he's understood what I said, I tried to talk to him.
"Look buddy, I'm not saying you can't hunt, just don't hurt creatures like little fairies. Just try to hunt for bugs and lizards okay. Can you do that for me, please ?"
He simply looked at me with his beady little eyes and made a long sigh through his nose. Almost as if he was agreeing with me, but I could literally feel his long sigh oozing with sarcasm. For a little dragon he sure acted more like a sassy child who didn't like to talk.
