A/N: Hey guys! It's Meg and I'm back after a year. I can't believe it's been that long already. I took some time off of writing to focus on my studies and well, It's been great! Jenzie might be dead right now but it'll live on forever in my heart. Also I lost all of my old notes for this book so I'm starting over with new ideas. Anyway, back to the story. Got a long one for ya.

Lauren Orlando♡

Its 6 AM so I get up and get dressed. I walk inside my closet and picked out a pair of black ripped jeans and a pink shirt that says "baby".

I take out and braid my hair into dutch braids, put on some make up and go down for breakfast.

My Mom had just finished a phone call as she walked in the dining room with a huge smile on her face. "Mom, did you finally agree to let me go to LAUV's concert!??!?!?" I ask exclaiming.

"No, sorry honey..." she starts. "But I have even better news! You're gonna love this!!" she says happily. I start to get worried. My mom is rarely ever this enthusiastic.

I just sit there and eat my cereal as I wait for her to continue. She says "John's coming back!!"

I drop my spoon. "WHAT?!" I shout.

"Yes, honey. He'll be back in 2 days. Oh, I can't wait to tell Melissa." She says as she walks out of the dining room.

All the memories suddenly start flooding back. I hadn't talked to my brother in so long, I don't even remember what he sounds like anymore.

It's been 2 years since he left us and I can still feel the tears burning on my cheeks as I sobbed hysterically for weeks after he left.

I miss him so much! It hurt me so much. But he's my brother and no matter how annoying he was, I love him. I always will.

John, Kenzie and I were really close. We were always together and we told each other everything. Although I always had a feeling that something was going on between John and Kenz because they were so much closer than Kenz and I.

Then I remembered something. I finished her cereal and ran to my room. I unlocked my phone and called Kenzie.

I hurriedly calls my best friend. She talks and I tell her that I have some good news. Gosh, I'm so excited!!

I sit in the car ride to school and see a girl sitting on the steps.

Kenzie Ziegler ♡

I see Lauren walk up to me and she sits down beside me. "Heyy Kenzz" she says as she hugs me so tight I can't breathe for a while.

"Hey Lau. I missed you so much. It's been so long since I saw you!! I mean come on 12 hours is too long!" I tell her. And she laughs and says "Oh, Kenzie."

"Soo what's this important news I hear you want to tell me about?" I ask. "So you know how John left for Canada 2 years ago?"

"Yeah..." I say sadly. All the memories come flooding in my head. My heart aches a little.

"Well...... HE'S COMING BACK!" Lauren says.

It's dead silent. My heart's beating so fast I can't breathe. I start to take deep breaths in an attempt to calm myself down.

"Kenz, are you okay?" Lauren asks. Still shaky breaths, I reluctantly nod.

Get it together Kenz! It was two years ago. He probably won't care about what happened. You'll all just go back to being best friends.

"That's great Lauren." I force out. "You must be so excited huh?" I ask. "Yeah! I really am. The three of us can go to the park and get some ice cream just like old times!

"Uh when's he coming back Lau?" I ask. "Two days from now, aren't you excited?" She asks me. "I sure am!" I say.

"Come on, let's get our schedules before the bell rings." I say and she nods.

As we're walking, Lauren and I are so invested in talking about the new Riverdale episode that I accidentally bump into someone. I look up and see a dark brown haired handsome guy.

I say "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry! I feel so clumsy." and blush. "It's alright, I've been feeling a little clumsy myself." He says and scratches his head. Awe damn that's cute.

"I'm Kenzie and this is Lauren." I say pointing at the girl beside me. "I'm Ashton, Ashton Arbab." he says. Boy, I know who you are. "Why don't you take me out for coffee as like a way of saying sorry?" He says and smiles. I feel a rush of butterflies flutter around in my stomach. "Yeah sure." I say and smile back.

"After school, at Dreamer Coffee?" He asks and I nod. " See you later Kenzie." He says. "You too, Ashton." I reply a little too eagerly.

We walk away and Lauren waits until we are far away enough that he can't hear us. She grabs my arm and shouts "EEEEEEEE!!!! Kenzie's got a date! Kenzie's got a date!!" " AND WITH ASHTON FREAKING ARBAB! I mean COME ON. THE SCHOOL'S BIGGEST PLAYBOY RUNNING AFTER MY GIRL!" "I do not have a date. It's just an apology hang out thing." I say.

Honestly, I'm secretly hoping it is a date. Sure, Ashton may be a playboy but he's cute and funny. Plus, it's a new year and I'm up for trying new things.

We then get to the office and get our class schedules and locker numbers. Thankfully, Lauren and my locker are right beside each other and we have all the classes together except Home Ec. Which is right after lunch to my dismay. Didn't matter, I still loved it!

It's not that I was a nerd or anything, I just excelled in my academics. I didn't love school either, in fact, it was one of the last things I wanted to have to go to everyday.

The bell rings and we go to our classes. The day passes by like a blur. I can't think straight or listen to anything the teacher says. Lucky for me, today is just getting to know the teacher and students and stuff like that.

I can't stop thinking about John. He's gonna be back in a few days and I have no idea how to act around him. Do I pretend it never happened? Do I talk to him about it?

Agh I wish I knew. I wish I could ask Lauren too, but I can't. She doesn't know about it and it would hurt her too much.

God, he messes me up. It's been 2 years!! 2 freakin years! I thought I was over it, over him. But I wasn't. And I don't think I'll ever be.

I miss him, but I don't miss the pain and the heartache he brought me.
