Dan's POV
Doctor Joey and I have waited outside for a while now and I'm starting to wonder what's going on. I placed my ear on the door and can hear Mr.Talia talking.
"Come on dear calm down. Don't worry, she is safe. It's all in the past now"
"I-I don't want t-to see it ag-g-gain. It hurts so bad. I lost her, and I can't get her back. It's all my fault!" Maggie said, sounding as if she is crying. She remembers something, though it seems like it's not a good one. What happened? Who is she talking about?
"Baby, it's not your fault. You saved her and thats what matters. Don't worry, you will see her again." I heard Mrs. Talia say to Maggie. Dr. Joey then asked what was going on, and explained that Maggie remembered something, but I don't know what. Dr. Joey stood up and asked if we can come in. Mr. Talia said yes and opened the door. Me and Doctor Joey walked in and sat down in one of the chairs in the office, I looked over at Maggie, she looks broken, out of hope, and traumatized. I feel awful just sitting there looking at her cry.
I just wanna hug her and tell her that everything will be okay but, she looks like she wants to be alone and want some space."Maggie, can you tell us what you remembered?" Doctor Joey asked.
"I-l can't tell you. It's to p-painful to tell."
"It's fine Maggie, you can tell me once your ready. Mr and Ms. Talia can I talk to you for a moment?" They both nodded got up and went outside with Doctor Joey. Maggie is still curled up on the chair sniffling, I stood up and went to her, placing my hand on her back rubbing circles.
"Are you feeling better now Maggie?" She nodded and looked up at me. Her eyes are blood shot red with dark circles underneath and cheeks stained in her tears.
"Who were you talking about?" I asked her whilst rubbing circles on her back.
"Sh-she... she was my best friend." She said rubbing the rest of her tears away sniffling.
"Hey hey, c'mere- I scooted closer to Maggie holding her hand- everything is going to be okay, all will turn out for the better." She nodded and burried her head on the crook of my neck, slowly drifting of to sleep.
We stayed that way for a couple of hour til the Talia's went in.
"Hey Ma-" I then interrupted.
"Shhhh, she is asleep." I said whispering. She nodded and sat down on the spare chair in the corner.
"Hey Dan, Thanks for staying, you are as good as Jaiden was." She complimented.
"Thank you, but uhhh... Who is Jaiden?"
"Didn't Maggie tell you?" I shook my head no.
"Basically, Jaiden is Maggies best friend before we moved here, they were so close that they are basically super glued together!" Ms. Talia laughed and I chuckled along with her.
"But, one day something happened between the two and basically stopped talking with each other, like the other doesn't exist. She was heart broken for months after that, stopped going to school, eating, and life basically. She locks herself in the room going out for occasional toilet breaks and snacks, that's why, when Maggie met you it's like she saw Jaiden again. Her eyes are now glowing like before and having a genuine smile on her face makes me happy and I thank you for that. Sorry for ranting so much, I'll stop now." I looked at her not knowing what to say. Everything gave more questions than answers, it's annoying.
"Do you know what happened between the two?" I asked curiosity dancing around my brain. Mrs. Talia chuckled before answering.
"I know what happened, I just can't tell you. Maggie told me not to say it to anyone because of dangerous reasons, Joshua knows as well but Maggie told him not to to tell anyone. So if want to know what happened, you should ask her." I looked down at Maggie innocently sleeping on my shoulder.
What's on your mind right now?
