Snow In

"How long is it going to be like... this?" Serena turned around, her vest ruffling behind her.

Clemont fixed his glasses and stared back up at her. "I actually... don't know. Tried to call everyone at the party, too, but there wasn't a signal."

"But you have to know, big brother!" His younger sister tugged at his jumper. "We can't be stuck here forever!"

The boy with the recognizable marked cheeks came up to the group with persevering look. "I'm sure we'll find a way out, Bonnie. Has anyone checked the windows yet?"

"Yep," Clemont scratched at his blond hair. "Closed shut with snow."

"What about the backdoor?" He suggested. "If there is one, that is."

"Haven't had time to check for that one."

"Sweet, I'll go check then!" Ash gave another large grin and ran towards the back of the cabin, his footsteps easily heard from the weak wooden floor.

Serena sighed, sinking down into an old rocking chair near the front door. "I hope he finds something."

Bonnie giggled joyfully randomly saying, "Hey, it's alright. If he can't find anything we could always break the wall!" The young girl demonstrated with a short punch, her tongue sticking out the side of her pursed lips.

"That wouldn't be the brightest idea, Bonnie." Clemont landed a hand on his younger sister's shoulder. "That could only cause snow to fall in, making it more difficult for us to get out and... uh, lower the temperature." He looked around. "And it's already cold as is."

"Aw, man." Bonnie crossed her arms in dismay.

Ash came back from the other side of the cabin and tried his best to make a face that showed some happiness while at the same time not giving the group false hope.

"The backdoor is, uh, blocked by the snow, too." He scratched the back of his head.

Everyone frowned.

"All we did was stop in this cabin for one night!" Bonnie squirmed around on the floor.

"I know right?" Serena stood up. "Don't forget that someone also forgot the coats."

Ash looked down at the floor and lightly bit at his lip as a small source of punishment. But the attitude he got from Serena was more than enough.

"Do you think anyone at the party will notice?" Serena tried to change the subject, noticing Ash's demeanor.

"I'm sure they will eventually." Ash sweat dropped.

"What should we do in the meantime?" Clemont asked, looking around at the rest of the group.

Bonnie's face lit up as she continued to lay on the ground. "We should play tic-tac-toe!"

As much as the group struggled with the idea of such a ridiculous game, they played with a marker and a crumpled piece of paper that Clemont kept crammed in his pocket whenever he came up with a design for a new gadget.
