Ved couldn't contain his excitement as he entered his apartment. Quickly, he changed into his casuals and slumped on the bean bag in the living room. He exhaled loudly and threw his head back.

As Ved and Natasha walked towards the nearby Café, Ved's phone rang. It was Dinesh, one of his colleague who had called. Ved felt his heart drop when he was informed that Boss is going to come on rounds soon and check everyone's work.

'Okay, I will be there in a while.' Ved said disappointedly and cut the call.

'What happened?' Natasha asked.

Ved sighed and shook his head. He dropped his arms loosely and turned to her, - 'Have to go, boss.' Ved replied. Though he wants to spend time with her but if he is found missing from work then he would be kissing his job goodbye.

'Oh-Okay.' Natasha replied in a small voice. Ved noticed her tired face and wondered if she is disappointed or just tired from work. She looked up at him and forced a smile, - 'Okay then, see you around in the Café.' Ved nodded. As she turned around, Ved got an idea.

'Natasha.' He called, and she turned. 'If you don't mind shall we exchange numbers?'

With his eyes closed, Ved contemplated if he should call first or should he wait for her. Perhaps, she is thinking the same or perhaps not thinking of him at all. Natasha looked very tired, maybe she just slept off. Ved's heart skipped a beat when his phone rang. His eyes flung open and without checking the caller's name he picked up the call.

Ved: Hey, Natasha!

Caller: Oooooo

Ved rolled his eyes and replied, - 'Yes, Aditya?'

Adi (giggling): Looks like someone is pissed off because they were expecting the hot waitress to call.

Ved: Don't call her hot!

Adi: Someone is getting mad (laughs) but seriously, you guys really exchanged numbers.

Ved: Yes

Adi: for reals?

Ved (sigh): Yes, for reals.

Adi: So, did you speak?

Ved: No

Adi: Urgh! You sound like a depressed Romeo. What are you waiting for? Call her dude.

Ved: I want to but... I don't what to offend her. Maybe she is asleep, she looked very tired.

Adi (sigh): Tumhara kuch nahin ho saktha, bro (You can't do anything) Just call her, if she is free she will pick up else she won't. Duh!

After speaking with Aditya, Ved was fully convinced that he should call her. But when he clicked on her number, he found his heart in his mouth. Ved shifted in his seat waiting impatiently for her to pick up. Few rings later, the call got disconnected. Maybe she is asleep. Ved sighed rubbing his face with his free hand. Then he sunk into his seat and stared up at the fan. He is disappointed that he didn't get to speak with her. But also, is excited as tomorrow will bring a new day. He smiled closing his eyes.

Next morning, the first thing Ved did was look for his mobile. He had placed it on the bedside close to him so in case Natasha calls he will pick up. He turned to his back and groggily checked his phone. There is no call from anyone but there is an SMS. Ved rubbed and blinked his eyes as he checked the message.
