MELANIE'S POV

Sooner or later it would've come to this, I'd have to talk to her. We walked together to the cafeteria but she suddenly stopped and turned around, "Hey, can you wait outside please", she said to Joy.

Joy looked at me and then at Samantha before nodding her head and heading out of the cafeteria.

I sighed and followed Samantha to a table and we sat across from each other.

"Ok, so, I will go straight to the problem, why did you spread a rumor about me that I am in love with Mrs. Persch?! Are you nuts?! You don't even know anything, Melanie!", she started spitting onto my face.

"What are you on about?! I heard the rumors but I didn't spread them and I only told Joy about it and it's not like Joy would go and spread rumors too!", I said angrily.

There was a moment of silence and I took the chance to calm down a bit and then I said, "Look, I didn't want to fight because I know that if there are rumors spreading around about you then a lot of people would think so. I am sorry", I leaned in a bit and placed my hand on her shoulder.

"What?", she shook my hand off of her shoulder, "I don't believe anything you say, you are such a bitch! I will tell Mrs. Persch that you started everything!"

What the fuck!

"What?! You are pathetic, Samantha! You just want to put the blame on someone! And even if you tell Mrs. Persch don't except her to believe you!", I said, getting up and walking away from her with tears in my eyes.

Why am I even crying?

I was afraid. Mrs. Persch is the only teacher that I truly trusted. I would always go to her when I have a problem and she'd always help me. I was afraid that this bitch would destroy the trust that she has with me. That she would she her mind about me.

As I was along the corridor to the front door, I bumped into someone and fell.

I quickly got up and looked at the person, Miss Havis.

Shit.

I quickly wiped away my tears and tried to smile brightly and apologized to her.

As I went to walk away, she said, "Wait, Melanie, did something happen? You are crying and I heard screaming from inside", she said rubbing my arm.

I looked at her, should I tell her? It better if I tell her before Samantha says something!

"Erm... I don't know how to say this but they are rumors spreading about Samantha and Mrs. Persch since they spend a lot of time together and many people find it strange and they started talking behind her back and I just wanted to be a good friend and tell her but she just screamed at me", I was unable to stop the tears from flowing down my cheek.

"Oh, Mel, it's good that you told her the truth. You wanted to be a good friend and warn her. Not a lot of people have the courage to do that. And about her with Mrs. Persch, I think she is just important to Samantha, you know? But anyway, what you did was great thing and I think it's better if we leave this topic and let Samantha do what she thinks is right. She is a strong girl after all and she'd know what to do, ok?", Miss Havis said after hearing what I said.

"Ok, you're right, thank you very much", I said after calming down.

"Good. Ok! I need to go now! See you tomorrow!", she said putting on a smile.

"Goodbye!", I said smiling back. After she went, I hurried to find Joy.

As soon as I got out of the school, I saw her waiting there and I went to her and we started heading to the station. I told her everything that happened, "What a bitch!", Joy said.

"I know, she should be ashamed of her self! I will talk to her today!", I said determined, and Joy nodded. "Ok!"

"But for now let's go home!", she said.

"I have had enough for today!", we both laughed.
