He sighed leaning on the head frame of his bed. Today was his 11th birthday, not that he thought anyone cared. He was hated by almost everyone, despised and disgusted by every child at his orphanage. He groaned as he got up and changed into a long sleeved burgundy (dark red) shirt, and dark blue jeans. He swept his brown hair to the left and put on his convers (sneakers). He was supposed to get a gift from the orphanage owner Miss Maggie, not that he cared, but he didn't want to make her mad.
He made his way to the Main Hall of the orphanage, already seeing Miss Maggie waiting there with, not a package, but a letter, with a big red stamped seal on it. There, incrusted in the seal, was a shield, split in four, and an animal on each one; Lion, Raven, Badger, and a Snake. He walked up to her and she sneered in disgust slapping the letter in his hand and walking away. He opened it right there, eager to know what was written inside. It read:
Dear Maverick Draven,
We gave sent this letter to inform you that you have been accepted to join Hogwarts, the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A mentor will be coming shortly after you read this letter, to escort you through Diagonal Alley and buy your supplies needed through the school years to come. Please talk to your mentor for more information on Hogwarts, and your mentor will answer to the best of their abilities.

That was weird he thought, why would someone give him a letter like this? What's Hogwarts? What do they mean Witchcraft and Wizardry? Who is Albus Dumbledore?
"He is the principle of Hogwarts, a school for wizards to train and become a series of many careers involving magic." The voice came from a tall big man standing there, with a long brownish beard and big bear arms. His eyes where fearless staring into Mavericks'. He tried to take it all in, but it was too much, it made sense thinking magic was real, but a whole school? Who was this guy, and what did he want with Maverick?
The tall man going by the name of Hagrid explained everything to him, trying not to skip any steps, after awhile Maverick understood and got ready to leave. It is a new start he thought, how bad could it be? He stepped out of the orphanage, not knowing the adventure waiting him.
