IT WAS CHRISTMAS NIGHT. everyone was celebrating at the byers home , which was very noisy and crowed. the delicious scent of cooking wafted through the air , and joyce calls everyone to the table.
later on , they watch a movie. the fairy lights strung across the whole house , and some overlapped the faded alphabet that had been previously painted onto the wall.
the lights blink for a moment , and everyone freezes ... and then they cease and everyone relaxes after a tense minute. the movie resumes , and then the carols.
the lights behind them flash again , once ... twice , three times , four times.

the figure stumbled towards the byers home , but it wasn't their house ... the figure knew this after months trapped in this hell hole.
desperate and scared , the door was flung open and the figure crashed to the wooden floors ... gasping for breath as they locked the door.
they wouldn't be safe here , not for long. and that's when the figure noticed the fairy lights , and the faded letters on the wall.
maybe they could get a message to whoever was here ...

the lights flashed erratically , on and off. hopper had his hand on his gun , and steve dashed into the kitchen to grab weapons.
the lights flashed again , then ceased completely. standing in a tight line , no one breathed.
until the lights flashed , slowly forming one word ...
