My life with John Rolfe was simple. We went to bed at eight, got up at six, had always the same scrambled eggs and green tea. Then I went to the market to buy some food for the day and Johnny went to work. We didn't see each other very often during the day.

Most of the time i spent walking around the forest near our land. It was always glorious to look at the trees grow and birds sing.
I had been always at peace with nature and nature here was always itself really peaceful.

Until this one time, when I was just having a wash in a river, I heard a loud thump.

I quickly got out and covered myself with my gown. The noise came from my house. At first, I got frightened, but then I thought that maybe it was just John, who should've been home by now.

I decided yet to go and check what the noise was caused by, just in case.
I ran down to the back yard barefoot and practically naked. It was just like the old days.

When I got to the front gate I saw a dark character with a cape, jumping out of the kitchen window. I couldn't see his face because it was covered with a mask. But the hair intrigued me. It was black, just like mine and very spiky.

I screamed to the man "Hey! What are you do-..." I didn't finish because he was gone right away in the speed of a falcon.

I stood there for a second, and after a moment of hesitation, I quickly ran to the building and went to the kitchen.

   What I saw, was horrifying...
It was John. He was lying in a puddle of dark blood. In the corner was standing Mrs. Jenkins. She couldn't move. I think she was in shock and so was I.

I never saw this much blood in my life. I couldn't really believe my eyes. How could this happen? Who killed my dear husband?

I felt dizzy and leaned over the table behind me. I got sick and vomited the scrambled eggs I had today with Johnny. I knew, I was never going to eat them with him again. When I thought of it I vomited again.

I then looked at him this one last time.
His hair was ginger as ever and his pretty blue eyes open and empty. Soulless. There was no more Johnny Rolfe.
