*Athena's P.O.V.*
The smell of blood filled my nostrils with the intake of breath, creating a burning sensation in the back of my throat.
I felt the need for blood creeping up within me. I haven't fed in a week and without the blood I was growing weaker and weaker. Fortunately I have a lot of will power and haven't killed anyone yet but I know the moment is on its way and will be here soon.
I take another deep breath my hungry nostrils filling with the sweet scent of O+ but with it a different scent. An extremely familiar one. Old spice and my perfume, mixed together in one. It was Harry's scent.
Excitement bubbled up In my stomach and spread through my entire body as I ran as fast I could to the smell.
The trail took me around a couple a corners until finally it was so strong I could puke.
When I finally looked up to my surroundings I found myself in front of a sickening familiar house. One that started this whole mess.
Kelsey Moncrief's house.
*Harry' s P.O.V.*
Fear ate away at me. Its been what seems like days since Kelsey left but in actuality its probably been just a few hours.
I hadnt told her who I'd imprinted on but I knew she was going to find out, it was only a matter of time.
But that's not even what scared me the most. It was that I couldn't read her thoughts. I had no idea what was going through her mind and that terrrified me.
Footsteps broke me from my train of thought. My undead heartbeat sped up with alarm. Only when they approached the door and my dulling senses picked up the faniliar smell that I realized it wasn't Kelsey.
"Athena?" I choked out, my throat still burning from my lack of blood and the open bag of O+ spilled on the floor before me.
The door creaked open slowly before Athena stood in front of me, blue eyes glossy with tears.
"Oh my god Harry! Your alive!" She cheered, throwing her arms around my bare torso. I winced but forced a smile when she pulled away.
Her hands fumbled at the ropes binding my feet, then quick as a bullet she was standing on a chair and cutting my hand free.
The ropes fell to the floor and I nearly followed but Athena caught me with a grunt. She sent me gently on the floor in the only pool of light in the room privided by a dimming lightbuld hanging in the middle of the room.
She stood breathless, the light hitting her face. That's when I noticed her worn appearance.
Dark shadows circled beneath her eyes. Her normal bright spark no longer shining through her gorgeous blue eyes, which now that I really look at were a dull dark blue.
She was starving.
"How long has it been since you fed?" I questioned, my voice weak and scratchy.
"It doesn't matter. Lets just get you out of here." She replied, eyes not meeting mine as she bent down again, ready to drag me out of this horrible building. But I wouldn't let her, not until she fed.
"A.J. how long?"
"How long has it been since you fed? We need to get you some blood. Here I-I-" She gut herself off, a shaking hand running a hand through her long tangled hair. Teeth sinking into her bottom lip. Her sign that she was tryIng to avoId answerIng the question.
I tore my eyes away from her stressed expression glancing at the red puddle on the floor. The bloid was now cracked and dried so that wasn't going to do any good.
I looked back at Athena who was now staring at the puddle, veins skithering into view under her skin, tturning her eyes almost black.
I ligted my wrist to my mouth, wincing as the movement sent a shock of pain throughout my body.
My teeth sank into my skin, blood pooling and dripping away from the wound.
I used my non-bitten hand to push my self into a straighter sitting position.
What is he doing? Does he think I'm going to drink his blood?!
Her voice echoed throught my head and I nodded in a response to her unspoken questions. I lifted my wrist higher, offering my blood to her.
"There is no way-" She started but I interrupted.
"You want us to get out right? Well you have to be strong enough to carry me out." I said sternly, pushing myself farther up, tying to get my bleeding wrist closer to her mouth.
"You need to hurry, I can feel the wound closing."
She hestitated for just a second milling the thought around and finally kneeling in front of me.
Her wrist was placed inches from my mouth.
How about we both walk out.
She thought, placing her face in front of my wrist.
I rolled my eyes but nodded. She counted to three and both of us sank our teeth into the other.
Her blood tasted different from the blood bags. It tasted more metallic, stronger, more powerful.
After a few minutes we both let go and wiped the excess blood from our chins and stood.
My throat didn't burn anymore and I felt stronger. Strong enough to run out of here and try to save Dakota.
Almost simultaneously we bloted from the house and made our way back to where I hoped Dakota was, safe and sound.
