Natsu
My phone buzzed and I walked across my newly unpacked dorm to my night stand to grab it. It was my friend Lucy. She and I were pen pals when I lived in Alverez and we met like three years ago. I recently moved to Magnolia, Fiore, where Lucy lives. I lived with my brother Zeref and his fiancé Mavis. My dad died ten years ago, when I was four, and I've lived with Zeref since he turned 18.  I'm now 14 and he's 25. We just moved here for Zeref's new job. He is a professor at the school that I now go to. Today's the move-in day. Classes started the next day and I couldn't wait. I'm also a little nervous. I reached up and rubbed the scar on my neck. Three years back I was walking home when I was mugged. I ended up with damage to my throat and loss of voice. I'm mute. I communicate through a note book and sign language.
I heard a crash across the hall and the super loud swears of someone. I opened my door and looked. The guy in the dorm across from me was sitting on the floor surrounded by an assortment of CDs and book. I saw a guitar case propped up on the counter of his kitchenette. His ink-black hair was all messy, like he had just rolled out of bed. I walked over and held out my notebook. Do you need some help? I'm done unpacking my room. He nodded and signed. Do you know Sign Language? That would help a ton. I'm G-R-A-Y by the way. What's your name? I quickly signed back You know Sign Language? Great! Now I don't have to write everything down that I want to say. He nodded and I bent over to pick up his stuff. We sorted his things until I looked at my watch. Damn it. I have to go. I promised I'd meet my brother for dinner at five. I'll see you around, I guess. He nodded and I sprinted out to grab my phone and money. I hoped I'd get to talk to Gray again.
