"brendon, get your lazy ass out of bed," his mom called from downstairs.
"shit," he muttered as he saw the time on the clock beside his bed. fifteen minutes until he was meant to depart for riverview heights academy, the boarding school he was to be attending for two years. it was his only option left, he'd had to leave 14 other schools due to bullying. hopefully there won't be a repeat of that.
"are you ready yet!" his mother cried from downstairs, "yeah, yeah i'm coming," he muttered.
as he came downstairs, a suitcase in either hand his mother rushed to him and engulfed him in a hug.
"oh, i'll miss you so much honey," his mum told him, verging in tears.
"hey ma, don't cry, i'll be back for christmas," he consoled her.
"i love you, brendon, goodbye, eat well, stay hydrated, make sure you floss!" called his mother as he walked down towards the train station. he saw a few others in the same uniform, black pants, white shirt, green and yellow tie, grey sweater, black blazer.
he lingered in a corner, not knowing anyone, all these people seemed to know each other already.
"hi!" a boy with fluffy brown hair called to him.
"hi," he replied quietly, feeling nervous.
"come over here!" he beckoned, as brendon slowly made his way to the group of four.
"hey, i'm tyler by the way," the fluffy haired boy informed him, "this is josh," he pointed to a boy with faded red hair.
"this is marina ," he gestured to a girl with black shiny hair. she was wearing similar clothing, except she had a black skirt, obviously rolled up to make it shorter.
"and this," he finished, "is dallon,"
Brendon knee that name somehow.
"and you are..." dallon replies
"Brendon" he told him, deep in thought.
"TRAIN. I mean the train, the train is here, on the platform. well not on the platform next to the platform if it was that'd be stupi-" dallon babbled.
"ok, dallon we get it, there's a train, jeez" noted marina.
"um, we're gonna be late?"
tyler stressed.
"come on, sit at our table," marina pleaded. She , tyler and josh sat one one side while dallon and i sat opposite.
i couldn't help but notice dallon staring at me from time to time. I guessed tyler and josh were dating as they were being all cutesy and cuddly and shit.
"so," marina began, "do you drink?"
"n-no," i replied truthfully.
"not even a sip ever?" she questioned.
"n-never, ever, e-ever," he promised.
"smoking? drugs?" she dug further.
"no, nothing,"
"oh, honey!" she cried. " welcome to the real world, make yourself at home!"
