CHAPTER

TWO

While at school I had a numerous amount of things happen. All of which do not end good. In math class the teacher called me out in front of everybody and told me to do my work in the hall. I was scorned by my english teacher for not turning in a paper that was due. And last of all I was sentenced to the principals office because of fighting with some idiot named Gerard. Life can be pretty tough sometimes but I always remember that there are some people that have it very worse than me, like my mother. When my mother was 3 she was discovered with an unknown disease that caused her to have to stay in the dark at all times, otherwise her skin will burn. I call it vampirism, she calls it a condition. She needs to take a pill very often to make sure that her skin doesn't burn from lights inside of the house and from general heat. Her fingers are shriveled and crinkled from before she was announced with the condition. She was actually pretty famous when she was young for being so abnormal. It was the wrong kind of famous, the kind of famous that announces your differences to the world and forces you to live alone. Because my mother was so unsociable she adopted me, and because of that I can never make it up to her.

When I was in school my friend Graham was having a really good day, he won his chess game and killed on his guitar at the school assembly. When I asked him how his day was going so good and mine wasn't he said "I just go with the flow."

"Go with the flow?" I asked confused

"Yeah, you just do it. You kind of have to find it out on your own"

"Find what?" I asked awkwardly

"The proper current."

It was at that point that I truly realized how mad Graham is. He sounded like some monk that was over 1000 years old. How does he know what the flow is? I didn't ask him any more questions cause I was afraid I might ban him into some extreme mental state. Jane on the other hand was having an average day. Her homework was dropped in the snow, she got an A on her test, she got in a fight, then found a dollar bill on the ground. Jane was like a money magnet, if there was money Jane wanted it. Most of the time it came to her, but others she stole it. Jane has a thievery problem, she can't help but steal. Yes it is a bad influence on Graham and I, but she is really a nice person.

After school was over Jane, Graham, and I went to the CVS so that I could buy groceries for my mother. The doors slid open for me as if I was a king entering my throne room. The cashier was a younger man, about the age of 23. He had a black curved mustache, which must have been his prized possession because he kept fiddling with it. He never stopped shaking, it was like he had been using drugs 20 minutes earlier. The counter top had tons of candy underneath it, yet that's not what we came here for. I bought my mother some milk, eggs, and tomatoes (because they're the only things my mother can eat) I payed the cashier and hurried out of there before Jane could do anything. When we got out the sun had disappeared and the moon came out to frolic. While I was admiring its beauty I felt a small tap on my shoulder. It was Jane.

"Can I go back in I forgot to buy some gum?"

"No." I replied sternly

"Come on please, besides you can't keep me out of there."

I knew what she was trying to do, so I put up a fight against her. I knew that eventually she would win so I started walking back while keeping up the fight.

"Are you purposely walking away?" Jane asked startled.

"Maybe." I replied casually as If I knew what I was doing.

"That's not going to work on me, Young Buck." I hate when she calls me that. It was probably a signal that she was going to do something horrid next. She ran back the way I came into the CVS. I can't run for anything so I told Graham to go get her. Graham sprinted as fast as he could all the way back, I slowly ran behind him. When I shoved open the automatic door I saw something I didn't want to see ever. Jane was robbing the store.
