Authors Note: Well hello there! This is my first story on wattpad...so please accept my apologies for any mistakes made! I used to write a lot, but when I started High School a couple of years, i just stopped. I don't really know why, I guess it was a mixture of no time and lack of inspiration...But, over the week-end, after reading many wattpad stories..I became inspired! So thank you wattpad, all have posted and all who read :) its nice to be writing again! Just so you know, I'm not really a writer whow rites stories full of drama...I mean like ones that are like BAM BAM BAM! I like to have lead ups and reactions..so if you're someone who doesn't like stories that arn't packed full of continous drama...you might not like this :/ but never mind...any comments and critism (negative and positive!) are VERY welcome! :)
So, well, enjoy and thank you for reading!
-CHAPTER ONE-
It was just a normal day, I had picked my little brother up from school, and I had dumped my bag in my room when I got home, ready to log on to my computer and chat with my friends. But then I heard my mother yelling for me to come down. I reluctantly and slowly turned off my computer and headed downstairs.
I walked into the living room and saw both my parents’ sitting on the couch looking guilty. My brother was nowhere to be seen. I stood in the doorway confused, until finally my mum spoke.
“Sit down Gabby darling, your dad and I need to talk to you. It’s serious.” I was really worried now, why were my parents so guilty looking?! As I sat down, I noticed my father shift uncomfortable and my mother place a stern hand on his knee.
“What’s going on?” I asked puzzled. “Well, firstly you need to remember that your father and I love you very much, and only ever want the best for you…” My mum started speaking shakily. “Mum, what’s going on!?” I was almost starting to get annoyed, I mean, what is making them feel so guilty?
“Shh, calm down sweetie, it’s nothing that bad, just a few small changes.” She looked to my dad for support but he just lowered his head, almost as if in shame…
“Well, I guess I better tell you…you’re getting married!” She spoke the last bit quickly, I thought I had misunderstood. “Huh? What do you mean mum?”
“Your father and I promised someone something when you were born…we promised that when you turned seventeen, you would marry their son…” She started to speak slower and my father finally spoke up, “I’m so sorry Gabs, we had no choice.” THEY HAD NO CHOICE?!?! I was sitting, unable to speak, but absolutely fuming. How could they? My own parents, giving me away before I was even legally allowed to do anything in my life!
“ …the day after your birthday you will move in with this family, and you will have two weeks to get to know their son, before the wedding…” My mother had started to state facts, but I couldn’t listen. I could see my father almost tearing up. I was his first and only daughter, I was his little ‘gem and he had promised to always protect me. I guess he was upset that he had failed…No! Gabriella! You have to stop thinking like this, they still love you…they said they had too…oh what am I thinking! They could have done something, couldn’t they?
~~~
I’m sitting in my bedroom, I’ve been frozen here for an hour, not sure what to do, ever since I left my parents and the living room…I turn seventeen in one week. One week! I only have one week left as a normal teen, before my life changes forever. Before I become a wife. Before I get married…
I hope you enjoyed!
