Crumbling Heavens

Chapter 4 - "Nirvana"

Jian Chen sprinted in shadow form through the area. Even though he lost his cultivation but, his body was still that of a solid 8- tier Apprentice Fighter. He passed through the main courtyard and reached in front of a building. There hanged a board "Medical Chamber" over the building. It was giving an ancient aroma because of all the medical ingredients stored inside.

"Hmm"

"Not bad. This place is full of herbs and potions. Just need to get some essential plants and then I'll disappear."

Jian Chen entered in the chamber. It was a basically just a storage room no matter how ancient it looks so, there were no guards. 

"I need a total of 5 different herbs of all the 5 elements to concoct the 5 Elements Revival pill in order to awaken my meridians."

The medical chamber had all types of herbs and plants. Jian Chen just needed to get a whiff of the scent and he would know what herb it was exactly.

"Sniff... Sniff..."

"I can smell a Fireburn root, a musty Revitalizing Grasswood, a Water Essence Pearl, a Silver Petal Lotus"

"I couldn't find any earth attribute herb but, i think i can extract it from the Fireburn root. After all its of dual attribute of fire and earth"

"All these materials are of the poorest quality. If i refine them into the 5 Elements Revival Pill then, it will take me almost a month to repair my meridians"

*sigh*

"I guess I will have to compromise on the time and just wait till I'm completely in form. Shadow Illusion will lose its effect in 5 mins. I should hurry and get out."

"Re-birth"

Just as Jian Chen was about to leave in haste he heard a very coarse voice from a dark corner of the chamber.

"Who is it?!"

Jian Chen was on high alert now. He just discovered that there was someone else too in the chamber other than him.  He was absolutely sure that there was no one around for at least 3 miles from the chamber.

"Des-troy... re-birth... nir-va-na"

Just as these words fell, a very strong gale of wind blew and engulfed the whole chamber into it as if a storm was arising. Jian was at the eye of the storm totally dumbfounded.

"What is happening? How is a storm blowing in the chamber? And who spoke just now?"

Lots of questions in mind but Jian Chen can't focus on those questions right now because he just found out that on top of the eye of the storm there was a shady  image of some mythical beast with blood red eyes staring at him silently.

"Re-birth... I sense re-birth" 

"You. Why did you come to the mortal plane? Who are you and what is your purpose in sending your soul to this plane?"

The eye glared at Jian Chen as if preying at some rabbit in a hole. Jian Chen was taken aback by its words. In this whole plane no one knows about his identity and some really strange eye just looked through all his secrets??!!

"How is this possible?! How could you know that I do not belong to this plane??"

Jian Chen was full on alert towards this eye. He knew he was totally handicapped in front of this overwhelming phenomenon but he didn't show any fear as there is nothing under the 9 heavens that could really bring fear to him. But the way the eye was looking at him it gave him a feeling as if was just an ant in front of some god.
