A Whole New World

-A PROMISE-

"Sofia! Sofia! Hold up!"

Sofia ran exiting the school, she made a sudden turn to the left and ran into Jeff Henderson and stumbled to the ground.

"Oh god! Sofia? Are you okay?" Jeff asked as Sofia got up and continued running.

"What's going on?" Jeff asked Eddie as he ran after Sofia.

While running Eddie turned and yell,

"I don't know, she was talking about a portal,"

"A portal? What the heck!" 

"I don't know man, we were just talking about Emily then....I think she knows where Emily is!"

"Emily?" Jeff started to run after the both of them.

Sofia continued running while millions of thoughts crossed her mind. She could feel something in the woods, like someone or something's presence. Something is out there and she's going to get some answers no matter what, she thought.

She could see the woods just a block away, and started to have second thoughts.

'What am I doing?' She slowed down.

"Sofia!" Eddie sprinted and stood in front of her, blocking her from going any further.

Sofia came to a sudden halt.

"You gotta let me through!" Sofia ordered him to move.

Eddie placed his hands on her shoulder to not let her move.

"Not until you tell me why," He said.

"No! Please! Just get out of my way!" Sofia struggled to free herself from his grip.

"Sofia please! Maybe.... maybe I can help you," he tried to hold her back.

"You won't believe me! You're just wasting your time!"

Sofia wanted to tell him everything badly, but she was afraid he wouldn't believe her. She was afraid that Eddie would think she's crazy or call her a freak and never talk to her again. Sofia liked being friends with Eddie and she doesn't want to loose a friend. A good one.

"I...I...I promise I'll believe you."

Sofia stopped fighting and thought about it. She lifted her right pinky,

"Pinky promise?" She convinced.

Eddie intertwined both of their pinky's.

"Pinky promise."

For a moment, they just stared into each other's eyes.

"Now can you tell us what happened to Emily?" Jeff interrupted.

Sofia and Eddie turned startled, they didn't notice that Jeff was there the whole time. Eddie let go of Sofia and took a few step back to show that nothing happened. 

Sofia looked at Eddie.

"Look, you don't have to trust me or anything, I just want to know where Emily is."

"I don't know where she is," Sofia said.

"So I ran here for nothing?" He asked.

"But I know she's alive." 

She turned to Eddie. "I saw a light, flashing from the woods just morning. A blue light. I just thought...that maybe, it's a portal. I don't know if Emily's in there or something, but her death is such a mystery. And they still haven't found her body!" She gulped.

Eddie and Jeff looked at each other.

"Something's going on here, our little town is not the same anymore."
