As soon as his phone rang, Dipper was surprised. He was absolutely certain that after the whole incident he got rid of his old phone, got a new one, and never gave the number out to anyone. That was just his way of staying unattached and alone. There was nothing Dipper liked better than being alone.
So when his phone rang, he was a tad bit concerned. Still being more curious than he liked, he answered it. "Hello?"
"Dipper, thank goodness." the voice said.
"Who is this?" He asked. After getting no response, he grew annoyed, "I repeat, who are you and how did you get this number?"
"This is your older twin sister, Mabel." The voice suddenly grew harsh and cold. "Who, you know, you left several times without so much of a word?"
Dipper winced, but it wasn't audible over the phone's crappy speaker. "How did you get this number?"
"After a couple of hours of tracking you down, I finally got it from your receptionist." Mabel explained, seeming proud of herself.
"A couple hours?" Dipper smirked, "you're slipping, sister dear."
"That's not why I called you." Mabel stated. "That's most certainly not why I called you."
"Then why did you call me if not to brag about yourself?" Dipper was getting annoyed. He'd tried to stay away from his family, and it got him this far. What was the point of trying when they were just going to track him down eventually?
"Stanford's very sick." Mabel sighed. "And since he hasn't been at Tech G in over a week, everyone thinks it's closing."
"Well why don't you run it?" Dipper asked, very irritated.
"Because Stanford specifically asked for you."
"Ha." Dipper rolled his eyes. "Look Mabel, I'm not coming back to Reverse Falls. I will never come back there."
"Dipper you have to!" Mabel insisted. "You're just running away from your feelings again! And that won't get you anywhere!"
"Is this all about what happened with her?" Dipper was appalled.
Mabel went silent over the phone.
Dipper looked around to make sure no one was listening in on his very private conversation. "This is just some ruse to get me to come back to her isn't it?" He paused and looked around. "Is Stanford even sick?"
"He is!" Mabel insisted. "Look, if you want to stay away from us because of what happened fine! But you cannot treat Pacifica like that, you cannot just abandon her like you did to us!"
"I did not abandon you!" Dipper frowned. "It's all your fault that it happened anyway, so why try and blame me for leaving?!"
"You left us!" Mabel cried. "And I will not allow you to leave Pacifica behind the way you left m--"
"Shut it, Mabel." Dipper nearly growled. "I'm not going back."
"Dipper, for once in your life can you think of how your actions effect other people?" Mabel demanded, "and I don't care what you say: you're coming home. Or I'll fly to London, track you down, and drag your sorry ass back to America."
"Goodbye, Mabel." Dipper hung up quickly and sighed again. He was too tired to deal with this. He quickly dialed a number and waited. "Hello, I would like a one-way ticket to America. . . .yes, that works. Good, tomorrow early. Thank you."
After hanging up again, Dipper found himself staring at the phone. "Great, this is fantastic." He stood up and began to walk to his home. "Now I have to get a new phone again."
