Aurelia's Diary:

Tomorrow gonna be my first day in an indonesian school. I am soo excited how it gonna be. It's already the second semester, so everyone already knows each other. I wonder if it will be hard to get along with them. But usually indonesian people are very open and it's easy to get close to them. And I really hope I can manage the language. Indonesian isn't a strength of mine. But they told me it's a bilinguar school so it should be fine.

We just arrived yesterday from France, me and maman. Papa is still there because he has to finish some work first. I decided to start this diary to save all my impressions and memories. I am really looking forward to going to school here. I mean it can't get any worse than school in France. It's almost 11 pm, I should get some sleep now to be ready for tomorrow. I have to be at school at 7. So early. Ok just one hour earlier than back home. But still, got to leave at 6.30, wake up at 5. ok good night!

2 am:

I can't sleep. The AC is too loud. But without it's to warm. And there are mosquitos everywhere. Maybe I have a jetlag. But I hadn't one yesterday. And I never had any jetlags coming to Indonesia. Maybe it's the excitment. Huft. In 3 hours I have to get up. Hopefully I can at least get a little sleep.

4.30am:

"Aurelia bangun! Udah azan subuh!"

Ibu Aurel masuk ke dalam kamar putrinya untuk membangunkan anak satu2nya.

"Heuummm iya, bentar lagi ma"

"Ayo bangun neng!"

"Ini jam berapa bu?"

"Setengah lima."

Buset baru tidur dua jam, batin Aurel.

"Mama tunggu sholat dibawah ya."

Aurel kedip beberapa kali sebelum ia bisa liat dengan jelas. Cahayanya terang banget. Dia sangat benci kalau ibunya menyalakan lampu ketika ia membangunkannya. Aurel bangun dari tempat tidurnya untuk mematikan lampu kamar. Sebetulnya ia ingin sekali untuk balik ke atas kasur dan kembali ke alam mimpi.
