My "curse"

Izuku POV

All my life I've had a rare Chronic disease.

The only ones who know are me and my mother.

Not even Kacchan knows about it.

It wasn't bad at first the doctors thought it to be minimal but ever since the beginning of high school it's worsened.

I've been missing more school and people are starting to ask questions.

However how about I tell you more about my story.

Before it ended anyways...

I started out as an average child and I was considered pretty healthy.

The doctors say my disease or how I like to call it "curse" was a heredity thing. From my utterly useless father who abandoned my mother and I at the birth of me.

It was thanks to my father's side of the family that I inherited such a "curse." The least he could've done was stay with us but no instead all he's caused is trouble for my mother and I.

I remember the first doctor's appointment I went to as a child.

It went something like this:

"Your daughter is sick."

"And what about it?"

"Well we cant determine exactly WHAT sickness it is. However based off of the symptoms it's probably just a cold."

"Isn't there any medicine I can get so the sickness goes away faster?"

"For a small cold like this you shouldn't worry about medicine just treat it like your average cold. If she's not better within a week please come see us again."

After that my 'cold' didn't ever really go away but it wasn't bad or anything.

It was just coughing or small fits of coughing. Also my nose was always stuffy and my throat felt scratchy but not too much.

I took the regular things you need for colds like that and within a period of time I was better, until I wasn't.

Only a few days after I had gone off medication I collapsed in class after a very harsh coughing attack that took all my air away.

After that I just took the medication regularly to make the symptoms diminish but never fully go away.

I could still do many activities, I just had to be careful that I didn't overexert myself too much.

Then you have my first friend and crush, Katsuki Bakugo.

Ever since he fought with those upperclassmen I was utterly in love with him. I followed him like a puppy would loyally follow its owner.

He even gave me the nickname Deku even though it meant useless.

Whenever I had periods of time when I was sicker than usual I had to stay in bed for a few days.

After my mother gave up her hope on it just being a 'cold' I started to have weekly check- ups.

Other than that and getting beat up by Kacchan or teased my life was pretty normal.

My first kiss was with Kacchan...

It had been a summer day and his seventh birthday. I had been invited by his mother of course and was basically the only girl there with the exceptions of the popular ones.

Kacchan was furious and the other kids seemed to feel the same. I was defended by Mrs. Bakugo but it didn't stop the silent tears from falling.

I decided to leave while Kacchan was in the middle of his argument with his mother.
