Chapter 1: BGT Audition

I walked into the theatre where the auditions take place. It is so cool! I'm auditioning for bgt today and I couldn't be any more nervous. I signed in and sat down, anxiously waiting for them to call my name. When they finally called my name for me to wait backstage I got so nervous. Ant and Dec came up to me and asked me questions and I answered them. Soon enough it was time for my audition. Ant and dec walked with me to the stage and let me go on. I walked on nervously and looked at the crowd. "Hello." Amanda said kindly. "Hi." I said nervously. "What is your name? How old are you? Where are you from?" Alesha asked me. "My name is ashayalynn. I am 15 years old. And I am from Savannah, Georgia, USA." I said. "You have a beautiful name Ashayalynn." Amanda said. "Thank you!" I said. "Do you live here in England?" David asked. "Yes, I'm here for my mums work." I said. "Wow." Simon said. "How long have you lived here?" He asked. "I've lived here for about 5 months." I said. "Okay. What are you going to be doing for us today?" David asked. "I'm going to be singing an original song." I said. "Fascinating." David replied. "What is your song called and what is the story behind it?" Simon asked. "I don't really have a name for it yet. But, A year ago on November 19, 2016 my best friend Annette committed suicide. I was in 8th grade at the time I had just turned 14, 7 days before this happened. I was sitting in choir class and I had found out that she had died through a friend. Her mother had posted on Facebook that she had died. I didn't have Facebook so I didn't find out til Monday when we got back to school. I couldn't even function. I had an after school practice for dance and track that day but I was so sad that I couldn't even go. When I got home I cried for hours and eventually I wrote out my feelings and this is how this song was born." I said tearfully. All the judges had tears in their eyes and I saw that ant and dec did too. "Well, whenever you are ready." Simon said. "Thank you." I said. I adjusted my ukulele and I started singing.

I finished and I got a standing ovation. I started crying and ant and dec came and hugged me. "Yous did well. That was brilliant." Ant said. Dec smiled at me and agreed with ant. "Thank you." I said. "Is your mum here?" Simon asked. "No she's at home with my little sister. My little sister is sick." I said. "Awe bless her." Alesha said. Ant and dec went back to there spot off stage. "The judges gave me compliments and when they were done, ant and dec all of a sudden ran on stage and went to the judges table and pressed the golden buzzer. I started crying even harder. "Oh my gosh, thank you!" I said and they come and hugged me. I walked off stage with them. "Oh my gosh. You don't know how much that means to me. Thank you so much!" I said. I hugged them again still crying. All of a sudden my phone rang. I answered it. "Hello is this Ashayalynn Williams?" The unknown person said. "Yes." I said. "I'm sorry but your mum and little sister got in a car accident and they didn't make it." My heart dropped. Ant and Dec asked what happened. ""M-my mum and little s-sister got in a car accident a-and th-they d-didn't make I-it." I said. They wrapped me in a hug. "I-I'm an orphan now." I said. "Oh darling." Dec said. "It's okay you can stay with us if you like until they figure something out." Ant said. "Really?" I asked. "Really." Dec said.
