He was a smart boy, but not Hermione Granger smart. He was friendly, but not memorably so. He was nice, but hardly anyone took advantage of that. He was not extraordinary. His teachers liked him, he never got into trouble. But he was bullied and teased relentlessly. The teasing didn't bother him. He knew he had stupid looking glasses, and an odd personality for a Gryffindor. He liked to think he had an iron will when it came to verbal abuse.
The bullying, however, that got under his skin. The pushing around, the muttered spells in the hallway. It pushed him to his breaking point. It was impossible, at times, for him to leave the corridor without gettin shot with a tickling curse or Jelly-legs. He had always been the most level headed Gryffindor, other than Hermione Granger, and he didn't act rashly like most others. His anger was a gift to his enemies.
And one day, he grew tired of defending himself. He was walking down to Potions when a jet of light ran at him, one that he did not recognize. Instinctually, he blocked the spell, shoving his weight into the spell. But it was too late. He heard a snicker from behind and as he whipped around, both of them hit him at the same time. He crumpled to the floor. The two Slytherin's ran over to him, horror struck. It had gone wring, terribly wrong. But it was too late.
Evan Velasco's life was already changed, perhaps permanently. He was already trapped inside his body, paralyzed.
And he wanted revenge. He would be hard pressed to get it, but he would find a way.
