Crash Landing

(Ayyyye so I got a request by a very close friend of mine saying they would love to see one of these lol and there is like NO self insert readers of oddworld (except with stranger) of Abe and them. So idk if I will be one of the very few or even the first? But anyways here you go! I hope to see some oddworld fans still around :) I remember how weird this game was, but I thought it had a good level of sass and fun XD I don't think there are many oddworld fans at the moment, but I'm pretty sure after the newer game comes out, more people will begin to know what it is, since it is a pretty old game XD ))

Laughter rang in my ears from my colleagues sitting around the ship. After a long mission, we were pretty happy of the accomplishment and decided to enjoy ourselves. I sat down on the leather seat as I watched them silently. I sat next to my best friend, (Bf/n) who was exhausted from the mission itself. The others were Darek, Casey, William, and Matt. I never knew them personally, but what me and (bf/n) did know, is that they are nothing and also huge jerks. They didn't do anything to my friend, but to me, I was treated like I wasn't even their team mate. I never existed. A lower class.

The only thing I'm happy about is that I have to wait for another week or two, and I will be back home to planet earth. I won't ever have to deal with them again. I slumped back in my chair, earning a glance from (bf/n). "Everything okay?" They ask turning their full attention onto me. I nodded in reassurance sitting up straight. We exchanged smiles to one another. That is, until the booming sound of alarms and blaring red lights illuminated inside the ship.

"Aw shit! Right when we were finally relaxing?" Darek rolled his eyes in annoyance, "I will go check it out..." he left his seat next to Casey and disappeared behind the automatic metal doors. As we all exchanged glances, none of us moved. It was dead quiet besides the alarms, that is.

"GUYS COME HERE!" Darek hollered catching everyone's attention. We all got up and scrambled through the door and into the control room.

"What's going on, Darek?!" Casey asked with fear tainted in her voice while she squished passed everyone until she got next to Darek.

"I-I don't know!!"

I looked out the window next to me. There was only a single planet. Did something break off the ship? Or... does this planet have to do with any of this? I'm no astronomer, but I think we are pretty close and getting closer...

"Wh-what about the planet next to us?! Don't you think we are kinda close? We might be getting pulled to it... I thought someone was supposed to be keeping watch. Darek!" My glaring eyes averted from the window over to him.

"Oh, so now your some astronomer now?!" Darek scoffed while trying to fix everything, "Quit wasting our time and actually help for once!"

"I have been helping! You just won't let me!"

"Guys... I hate to admit it, but (Y/n) may be correct. As of right now, it seems the engine stopped working... We need to get strapped in, now!" William ordered, "There is no other way we can get out of the planet's pull without it's too late. Darek obviously miscalculated."

Darek was about to protest, but he kept his mouth shut and did as he was told. Everyone plopped down Into the seats and got themselves fastened in as we were getting closer and closer. If I hated anything, it was the feeling in my stomach I would get when the ship was going at high speed. It was almost like being on a rollercoaster, but ten times scarier and faster. The windows became tainted with burning red and the speed picked up. I closed my eyes as tight as I could close them. I waited and waited. My stomach felt like it could release its contents any moment. My back sunk further into the seat, my heart pounding hard against my chest. It felt as if the whole entire ship was shaking rapidly like an earthquake.

Abe's POV

I eyed around getting a glimpse of the area I was in. Mountains and boulders stood tall and proud with wooden ramps and spiky wooden sticks stuck to the cold surface of the rock. I made my way getting to whatever I needed to do. As of for now, I needed to find Munch, or so the Mighty Raisin stated. I didn't know how I was going to do it... but I know there is a way. A bright light snapped me out of my thoughts and made me stop in my tracks. I turned my eyes towards the ball of light in the sky. What was it? Is it dangerous? I watched silently as it landed with a loud boom. The ground felt as if it shook from the close impact. I was... curious. But I knew I had to be cautious. My eyes averted around the area once more before I started making my way to the mysterious object that laid in the ground.

Y/n POV

I opened my eyes and tried to move. I must've been knocked out from the impact the ship had, but at least it felt like nothing was broken in my body. I unstrapped myself and looked out the window. Darek, William, Casey, Matt, and (Bf/n) was outside... without a spacesuit or anything! There's breathable air here?? I rushed out of the ship, almost tripping over my own feet. My eyes scanned the area of green grasses and tall Rocky Mountains. Where am I? What is this place?

"Great. Just damn great! How are we supposed to get home from here?!" Darek raged. Under all that masculinity he had, I knew he was just as scared as anyone else here was.

"Okay! everyone needs to calm down." William stated as he set a duffle bag down onto the grass. Birds were flapping their wings as sunlight poured down on the nature. This planet reminded me so much of planet earth. Maybe there might be other life forms here!

"William is right." My voice quivered aloud, "Also... Maybe there is other life here... and maybe they might be able to help?"

Darek glared at me with his piercing ice blue irises. "How about YOU shut the hell up! Get real, (Y/n)! There is no other life here that would just be willing to help strangers like us. Who knows?! Maybe they will see us as a threat! And then they will become our enemies!"

"Well with you yelling at me and getting all upset, I'm sure they will think of us to be pathetic!" My arms crossed while me and Darek were having a glaring contest. He knew I was right nonetheless, but at the same time, I knew his idea could be the real deal here.

"Well, Miss. Know it all. I will split ya up into groups. Gather any resources you think might be useful. We might be here for awhile until we can get a radio signal back home. If you find anyone, do NOT go up to them. Mind your own business and they will mind theirs." Darek ordered.

He started paring us up one by one.

Casey went with William, Matt went with Darek, and (Bf/n) went with me. I had a bad feeling about this place, but something about this planet gives me determination and adventure. I just hope there isn't anything that could harm us... if there is, this will be one hell of a ride.

(First chapter is done, woo! I hope some people will notice this because like I said. Not many people know what oddworld is and it's kinda dead for now whoops but oh well? Please leave a vote or comment :)
