Ronald could feel something wasn't right the moment he entered Annie's apartment. She didn't greet him like she always did, in fact she didn't even acknowledge him. She was just staring at nothing, her mind far far away.

Ronald wanted to ask her if something had happened, but he knew she wouldn't answer even if he ask. "Where were you all day?" She asked, her tone cold and robotic. It caught Ronald off guard as he stopped his walking towards his room.

"I went to visit my family." he answered. Now that she spoke he decided to tell her his decision. "Annie, I have to tell you something." He started. He didn't know how she would react.

"Later. Answer my questions first." She had an empty look on her eyes. "With whom?"

Ronald had never seen her act like this for as long as he had known her. "With Lucas." He said hesitantly. Then he remembered something. Was she angry that Lucas would live there too?

"Did anyone tell your relation to him?" Annie suspected in something and she wanted to prove her suspicions.

Where was she going with this? Ronald asked himself but he answered nevertheless. "My mother told me she was his foster mother."

"Do you know the reason why?"

"Well apparently his biological parents had abandoned him because he was homosexual."

"And what do you think of this?"

"Well, I think no parent should abandon his child just because they can't help who they are."

Annie was pleased with Ronald's answers, but they still didn't remove her suspicions. "What did you want to say earlier?"

"About that." Ronald scratched the back of his head. "Well, I still don't remember a single thing about myself and I thought if I lived with my family, it would help me get back some memories."

"I see. And Lucas is going to live there too, right?"

"Yes, my mother and sister pestered him until he agreed. They really missed him and from what I've heard, he hadn't met them for quite a while." Annie nodded. "If I may ask, did something happen? Are you okay?" Ronald asked worried. "Can I do something for you?"

Annie resisted a smile. "I'm fine. Sorry I was acting like a b*tch earlier. I was angry at someone."

"No worries. So you're not mad I'm leaving, right?" He wanted to make sure.

"No, of course not. It's your life and your memories. I promised to help you and I keep my promises, no matter what." she gave him a smile.

"Thanks, you have done so much for me."

"I wish everyone appreciated it as much as you did." She whispered to herself, referring to Lucas.

"Did you say something?" Ronald replied.

"I said it was a pleasure." Annie lied, her heart breaking at the thought of Lucas being mad at her.

Swallowing the bitter liquid called vodka, Lucas noticed the eyes staring at him. He was sure they either recognized him or they took him for an under aged teenager on a club. He didn't really care, they could go to hell for all he knew. The only thing he wanted was to forget.

He wanted to disappear from the face of the earth.

But he had promised to himself that he wouldn't fall on that road again. As much as life stabbed him in the back, he would heal. He wasn't the same as he was before. He would no longer be weak. "Another one please." He slurred to the bartender, who seemed in battle with himself. That must have been the tenth or something shot the young man had drunk and he didn't knew if he could take another one.
