On that Saturday morning as soon as Jeongguk woke up he heard the noises of rain hitting his window rather aggressively. He whined and squirmed on bed.
He hated rainy days, it made things looks dark and sad, his hair would get all frizzy and he hated how he would suffer to get around because he had no car anymore. It was annoying how he would need to walk around with an umbrella – what he did only if the rain was too strong otherwise he would only wear a hoodie because he hates umbrellas – and even with the fucking umbrella his shoes and the bottom of his pants would still end up wet.
Once he looked to his right and caught sight of his clock on top of his table and saw that it was already 10am he was reminded that today was Saturday and that at least he wouldn't have to worry about going out on the rain.
But as soon as his worries had calmed down, it came back up once he heard his father basically screaming that there was no way all the tables would fit inside the house.
Right, it was his dad's birthday today and his family would be coming over around 1pm.
Jeongguk closed his eyes again and turned to face the wall on his left. Maybe if he pretended he hadn't woken up yet he wouldn't have to help setting all the tables on their living room.
He could bet his parents were annoyed to no ends now, because they had spent the former day setting things up and today all they would need to do was place the plastic chairs and tables his father had rented up in their backyard and things would be ready.
But as it was raining now that wouldn't be possible anymore, they would need to clean up space on the living room and then place the tables around, and as the tables were outside the night before his parents were probably drying them up now.
Jeongguk would rather not help out, so he just wished he could force himself back to sleep until he had to wake up to wash up and get ready for the party.
Of course his family wouldn't let him do that tough, not even five minutes later his bedroom door was opened abruptly and his sister screamed. "Wake your lazy ass up bitch we need your help."
He then felt something hit his head, most probably one of his cushions, and whined loudly. "What the fuck?"
"Get up right now! I am so not helping them out on my own." And after saying that his sister left with a bang.
Literally, she closed the door with such force Jeongguk could bet his three posters loosely hanging on his walls would fall down.
He was not that wrong once he saw one of them now on the floor. He got up, picked his poor poster up and tossed inside his wardrobe. This stupid tape he used was definitely he weakest one; he had five posters down now. It annoyed him how the posters would fall but the squares of tape would be left glued to his walls and as he is far too lazy to clean that up, his walls would just be filled with tape all over.
Still whining, Jeongguk picked up the cushion his sister had thrown at him and placed on top of his messy sheets. He would just deal with cleaning up his room later, or not at all. It's not like his relatives will spend the party inside his room anyways, so there's really no reason to clean it up.
He quickly left his bedroom and was greeted by his mother asking him to help moving their things out of the living room so they could set the tables on there. Before he could though, he was suddenly dragged by his father into a hug while the man asked him if he wasn't going to get a happy birthday from his son.
The boy then wished his father a happy birthday and right after was forced out of the hug in order to help around.
In reality it didn't take them too long to set things up around the living room. Some tables ended up too close and others were just left at the kitchen and Jeongguk made his parents swear they wouldn't make him seat at the kitchen with the kids because he couldn't handle that.
