Qibriyah's POV
"I dont think this is possible"
I stared at Basith.
"Why not? You just have to let me speak to my brother once" I pleaded."Look, he thinks you are no more. He'll be grieving a lot for a while but thats worth it. We need your dad to believe Armaan." He explained slowly to me." Dont worry, you'll see your brother once everything is stable. Armaan will explain everything to him. You need to have patience."
"How are you so sure Armaan won't change his mind?" I challenged.
"First tell me your decision about the marriage." He stared at me, even more serious than before.
I thought of the dream.
"I have conditions" I finally said after thinking for a while.
"Does it mean its a yes?" He beamed.
"Well, I have no other option."I shrugged.
"Right..okay so I'll do my part of the deal. I'll tell Armaan to accept all your conditions WHICH will include meeting your brother and sister."
"Yay! Inshallah." I clapped. I hope I see them soon. "Armaan will agree, right?" was my last concern.
"I don't have any other choice, now, do I?"
I turned to see Armaan glaring at me.
"The first Nikah in the house!" Squealed Basith.
~~~~~~~~
"Number one, You'll grrow a beard for me" I spoke annoyed by the jittery feeling in my stomach.
"What?!" Armaans eyes popped out as he stared at the piece of paper in his hands. I earlier wrote my list of conditions on a notebook page I borrowed from Saad.
"Yes" I said firmly.
He caressed his tiny beard.
"Fine, I dont have a problem with it""You will not drink. Ever."
He gave me a look. "Do I look like I drink?"
"Duh" I smirked, later adding a 'just kidding' so he won't get worked up.
"You will learn to pray. We'll take baby steps"
"I dont agree to this. I'm not ready yet" he looked at me seriously.
"Fine I won't force you." I smiled sadly under my Niqab. I was quite interested to know what he'd do with this condition.
I really hoped he'd agree.
"You'll let me see my brother as promised." I turned to take a look at Basith who had been watching us. He gave me a reassuring smile.
"Last. You'll look for a new job"
This perked up his bored ears. "Did he tell you?"he pointed at Basith.
"Tell me what?"
"Tell her what? "
We both asked simultaneously."That I am leaving this job after a while. Like I promised you. Don't you remember?" He gave Basith a pointed look.
"Ah yes! I do." Basith smiled at me. "He'll look for another job somewhere at the time you'll meet your siblings"
I have no idea why but a huge smile broke on my face hearing that.
"Thats great!"
"Yeah..lets plan for the most awaited thing now."
"What?" Armaan and I said in unison.
Basith facepalmed.
"Gosh! Your nikah guys!" He exclaimed dramatically.I shook my head at his antics but the light tinge of pink in Armaan's cheeks didn't go unnoticed by me.
