the squirrel and the angel

Kim Yeojin looks at the small squirrel, eyeing the fluffy tail that the small animal had.  Her older brother, Kim Seokjin, was not paying attention to the young girl, causing her to have mischievous thoughts cloud her mind. She moves closer and closer to the squirrel, trying to grab the tail of the rodent. The squirrel moves to attack the girl, but then a small bunny comes, hissing at the squirrel, chasing it off. 

"Thank you! As a prize I'll take you to come live with me, forever!" Yeojin says, grabbing the small bunny and putting the bunny in her bag. Getting up she starts walking around the park, waiting for Seokjin to finish and come walk with her. Seokjin waves goodbye to his friends, Namjoon and Hoseok. 

"Come on, my little darling, it's time for us to go home," Seokjin says, grabbing her hand, leading them to their home. The two children happily walk home, cheerily talking about their day. Usually siblings would fight and argue with each other, but for Seokjin he could never find the heart to fight with Yeojin. They were the closest pair of siblings there ever were.

Walking up to their house, Jin opens the door, greeting his parents, who then tell both of the children to start washing up for dinner. Yeojin sets her bag down, letting the small black bunny out of the bag. The bunny hops around, finally settling down on her bed. "I'm going to name you Jungkook, and we can be best friends." Yeojin says, moving to sit next to Jungkook. 

"Yeojin, come on it's time to eat-" Seokjin pauses as he sees the small bunny sitting on her bed. "Is that a bunny? It's so cute!" He exclaims, coming closer to pet him. Jungkook recoils in fear, not wanting anyone else but Yeojin to touch him. "It's okay, I won't hurt you." The bunny wouldn't budge, it only moves closer to Yeojin. 

"Come on Kookie, it's okay, he won't hurt you," Yeojin says, petting him even more. "He's a friend, and friends don't hurt each other." With this Jungkook let's Jin pet him, eventually warming up to his touch. 

"Yeojin and Seokjin! Come on, it's time for-" Their mom pauses as she sees the small bunny sitting on the bed. "Why is there a bunny sitting on your bed, Yeojin?" She asks, walking towards the two children and the bunny.

"He saved me! My Jungkookie saved me! There was this very scary squirrel that almost attacked me, and then my Jungkook scared it away! We can keep Jungkook, right?" Yeojin says in excitement, hugging her bunny. Her mom couldn't dare say no, already knowing that it will be okay with their father, she gives her a nod. Yeojin squeals, hugging the bunny even more, Jungkook snuggling his head into the crook of Yeojin's neck.

5 years later

Jungkook watches Yeojin sob on the bed, there was nothing he could do help. He hops on to her, cuddling into her side, trying to calm the ten year old girl down. It wasn't working, he could feel tears pour onto his fur. "Why do people have to be so mean? I've done absolutely nothing to them, why is it always me?" She sobs even harder. Yeojin looks at Jungkook, "I wish that you were human too, then maybe I wouldn't feel so alone."

Angel, Min Yoongi, watches at the young girl. This was his first assignment as a guardian angel, and it seemed like an easy task to him. "And your wish will come true, Yeojinnie," Yoongi mutters, "In seven years, he really will be here." He says, lacing his powers on the bunny. Min Yoongi disappears, knowing that in seven years he will return back to Yeojin, to help and guide her. 

Seokjin holds his little sister, letting the tears fall onto his shirt, staining it. The young girl had calmed down, Jungkook was cuddled into the side of her, not wanting to let her go. "Come on, Yeojin, we can teach Jungkook the alphabet." They both loved the idea of teaching the bunny new things, even if it will be useless in the mere future.
