The Babysitter

Chapter 1 - "Starting out"

I groan shutting off my alarm to get up and ready for class. Luckily its only for 8 more weeks. I sit up and see my best friend & dorm room buddy, Chloe sound asleep. I move quietly to get ready so I can go get Chloe and I coffees before I have to move off to one of my last lectures of my college career. Once I'm in my car I go the back way to the café to see the same thing I always go the back way for, The Mansion. The enormous white rendered fence protects the miles of land before a large Greystone modern mansion. It has been my dream to own something to that effect since I was young and my dad would take me with him to his building sites and I would walk through the houses he would build and hope one day I could own one. I continue my way to the coffee shop and see my Boyfriend Cameron Grayson, "Good Morning" I say to him, we meet at the coffee shop every morning because he graduated last year and goes off to work.

"Morning" he says uncomfortable and almost irritated.

"Are you alright?" I ask him

"Fine" he bluntly responds

"Grayson" I say and lock eye contact with him

"Ash, seriously let it go" he says and storms out leaving me there to process what happened

I walk out and decide that it's not going to ruin my day because he's probably just stressed with work or something.

Unlocks door

"Morning" I say seeing Chloe sat up typing frantically, she doesn't hear or see me, I hand her coffee to her breaking her concentration

"Ash you're a life saver" She says as she sips coffee reading over what she wrote

"That due next?" I ask, she nods

"when did you do yours?" she asks

"I haven't" we both giggle

"Mr Porter always lets me finish in class" I brush off

"Yeah but that's you Ash" She says

I shrug

"I went by that mansion this morning" I say looking out my window

"Ash you always do" she says

"There is just something so intriguing about it" I respond

"Fair enough" Chloe says

-After Lecture-

"Let's go get Mexican" I say

"You've been craving weird stuff Ash" Chloe says as I talk about food in the middle of a topic that wasn't food

"I just feel like it" I say

"whatever" she laughs

"So Chicago and I were thinking of ..." Chloe starts

"Can you name your kid Detroit?" I cut her off

"ASH!!" she says but cant help laughing

"Sorry, sorry. Continue with your boring story" I say sarcastically, she rolls her eyes

"Tim and I were going on a trip and want to invite you and Cameron" Chloe finishes

"sounds like a great idea but this morning Cam was acting so strange" I say honestly

"what happened?" she asks, its not normal for Cam to act out
