Barry Spears carefully gave answers to the questions given to him by the lead experimenters, despite some of them being fairly awkward - he knew he could trust them, and this was for the greater good of humanity. If he can get this second dimension under control not only will he be helping it, but his own homeland. Each dimension is interconnected.

The whole process took more or less an hour, and too quickly for his racing nerves he found himself on the test table, about to be scanned by the device that was sending him over to the Wasted dimension. He didn't know the fine details of how this sort of thing worked, but he trusted his best friends who went through University for twenty years, starting at the age of twenty. They were fine trusted men, and even more trusted scientists. He knew nothing could happen to him that bad, in the contact and inside of their own vow of brotherhood - he could get out of the dimension anytime he was in danger, and the machine somehow was able to tell of when he would be in a life threatening inescapable situation, how it worked was immensely beyond him and Barry wasn't the questioning kind of guy. He was actually kind of a "sheeple", never making his own moves besides once, on a girl in College whom he dated for a year before she cheated on him with a woman, who she is married to now. He is too dense to notice he can't, or doesn't make decisions for himself, he merely rides the wave of life and hops on lucky shoes.

"Now, you're going to fall asleep briefly, and while this happens we will turn on the machines, and you'll wake up inside of the dimension." Mr. Heffernan, casually known as Robert informed him, and fastened a mask onto Spears' face.

Barry Spears world was fading around him, slowly coming to a halt. He heard laughter as he slowly fell deeper, the casual voice sprung in delight. "He's the first one experimenter, it was mandatory he didn't know that he can't leave and life will end for him if he dies there." For a split second Barry's mind went into a rushing speed, he made the action to lift up his arm to remove the mask, but he only got up a finger.

Barry Spears, Patient One is very gullible.
