Chapter 15

“So, I got to make this quick” said Dave. “Your mom told you about dinner Saturday?”

“Yeah,” I replied “what about it?”

He went into his back pocket and showed me the cutest engagement ring I’d ever seen.

“Omigosh that’s so cute” I began.

“Sssssh! I’m leaving it up to you and Bree because you guys know her best.”

“Okay.” I said as I bobbed my head like clockwork.

He made his way back to his original seat just as mom was descending the staircase.

“I was gone three minutes did you guys finish the food?” she asked jokingly.

“No, but we should’ve” said Dave as he allowed mom to curl up and lean on his arm.

At the end of the show Dave didn’t stay long because he had to go pick up Rosy from a Date that went wrong. As me and mom was in the kitchen, she was washing up and I was just sittin on the counter twinkling my toes.

“You ok?” she asked.

“Yeah, am good” I replied.

It was going to be really hard to keep my mouth. Oh shxt! I really needed to call Bree so we could start planning this thing.

“Night mom” I said as I jumped off the counter top and kissed her goodnight.

Thelma’s POV
Bree literally ran up the steps skipping a few. I heard her lock her door and somehow I just knew that she and Bree had a phone date as I loved to call it. Anyways, it’s late and I wanna do some work tomorrow so I think I should go to bed.

I ensured that all the doors and windows were closed then I straightened the sofa. I turned out the lights then went to my room. As I was passing her door I heard her say “No Kayla, you’re weird.” I smiled to myself. What were they up to now?

I was in bed in a flash and in no time I drifted off to sleep.

Back to Bree’s POV
“Yes, she really loves chocolate. But remember he likes vanilla so we can mix them.” I said to Kayla.

We were video chatting and so I saw her nod, then I watched as her grandma came up behind her and frightened her out of her skins. I nearly died with laughter.

Before I met Kayla, I thought the grandkids would prank their grandparents but man, Kayla’s grandma was always on the ball with some trick up her sleeves.

When we finished laughing she said she was going to take a shower and sleep her humiliation off.

Aite I had said then ended the call.
