Chapter 28

Jennie's POV

Today is the day I'll confess my feeling to Namjoon. I booked a private room at a restaurant by the beach. The view was fantastic. The sea breeze provided positive vibes that would instantly brighten up your mood.

My friends were right. I had never been so anxious to meet a boy. Neither did I ask him out. But with Namjoon, I just wanted to screw the rules and set new ones.

The room was spacious. The table was white and set right next to the huge window. There were mixed flowers placed on every case. I requested the waiter to play Canon D on repeat. The music made me feel less anxious.

I made Rosè do my makeup. She applied minimal make up to make it look like I applied less effort. Lisa set my hair in loose curls. She also picked my outfit. I wore on a faded pink dress with lace around the borders. She paired the dress with cream heels which had crystals embedded on the front.

He said that he would be here at 11:00 a.m. The time was now 10:58 a.m. I took in deep breaths. I shivered when I heard footsteps and light murmurs outside.

The waiter opened the door and Namjoon walked in. Punctual as always. He looked so natural without any makeup. I was happy because I felt that he was comfortable with me. I smiled at him. His mood was a bit low but he smiled genuinely at me.

"You're here" I initiated the conversation.

"Yes. You look very beautiful." He complimented me. "I didn't think you'd be here so early. I hope I didn't make you wait too long"

"No. Not at all." I didn't want him to feel sorry "I just got here as well"

"This place is really nice. I really like the ambience. You have a very good taste" I could sense that he wasn't feeling too good.

"Are you feeling okay? You seem to be a bit sad"

"Yeah. I'm great. I'm sorry I made you feel bad. It's just that there is a lot of work to do. Also, I need to head back early. I'm so sorry about that." He was really guilty and stressed.

"It's okay. Please don't say sorry to me. We are past all that"

"Yes yes. I'm sor.." he laughed "I'll take that back"

"So, you said you wanted to discuss something with me?" He asked.

My breathing was starting to get more rapid. I tried to take in deep breaths. My palms were wet.

You can do it!

It's now or never. Just say what you want to say. He looked at me expecting me to say something.

"Yes, I called you here because I wanted to tell you something." I tried to extend my confession "Before I say it, I just want you to know that I've never done anything like this before so please go easy on me"

"Mmm-Hmm"

"So lately, I've been feeling really different. Not in a bad way. In a really good way in fact. I found myself be very optimistic and happy all the time. Something had changed. Someone new had a really good influence on me. Yes, it was you."

He smiled widely at my words. I was glad that his stress had eased a bit.

"It's the same with you. You also have a really positive influence on me" he said

I continued "The reason why I called you here today is because I wanted to..."

I took in a deep breath

"I wanted to let you know that I really really really really really like you" I said with my eyes shut.

"And I want to be your girlfriend" I added quickly.

I didn't hear anything. I couldn't see his reaction. Is he happy that I made the first move? I slowly opened my eyes to see him.

To my dismay, he wasn't smiling. He had a neutral expression and was looking at me. His grew nervous and his eyes showed sorrow.

"So?" I broke the silence.

"Jennie, I'm sorry" he got on his knees and apologised several times.

Did I just get rejected?

Tears started forming in my eyes. More than embarrassed, I was deeply hurt. I felt like a thousand of knives pierce my chest.

Third person's POV

The day before Jennie's confession
BigHit Conference hall

"I have gathered here you boys because I need to discuss something" Bang PD said.

"A few days ago, I had a meeting regarding BTS' future schedule. You boys have had a busy year with tours and comeback. I have decided to send you boys on a vacation trip to Bali, Indonesia."

"Assa!" Jimin cheered.

"But before that, we have decided to send one of you boys to a reality show. It's a long one. I'm sure you've heard of it, We got married."

There was a sudden tense amongst the boys. They enjoyed watching the program but didn't want to be a part of it.

"If it makes you any happier, you will be be partnered with one of AOA member" he added.

"It's great. I love Apink but I don't think ARMYs would like it" Yoongi said.

"I understand" Bang PD said "At first they might not support you but eventually, they'll enjoy the program. They will learn more about the personal life. Also, the producers of WGM have been very fond and supportive of you boys ever since your debut. I think it's about time one of you boys represent on behalf of the entertainment out loyalty. Don't you boys agree?"

"Yes" they said in unison.

"Then why so gloomy? Do any of you have a girlfriend?" Bang PD asked all of a sudden.

"No" Taehyung replied instantly.

"Good. So do we have any volunteers?"

None of the boys raised their hands. They all remained silent in deep thoughts.

"One of you have to go. Don't make us pick names" he pleaded. "Come on. It's going to be fun. Plus, you'll get to eat good food and go to beautiful places"

Namjoon looked at his fellow mates. None of them seemed tempted at the deal Bang PD just stated. He felt obliged to represent the group. He raised his hand.

"I will represent the entertainment and attend the show" all his member looked at him in gratitude.

"Indeed, a good leader" Bang Shi Hyuk praised him.

The first person who came across his mind was Jennie.

What would he tell her?
