PROLOGUE
I slowly turned my head to a pair of red eyes staring at me. "Who's there?!" I shouted. I was quiet for a bit expecting an answer, but I knew I wouldn't get one. The woods around me creaked, the wind softly blowing. A drop of blood slid down the side of my face, onto my neck. I tighten my grip on my dagger, in my left hand, as well as my grip on my 50 cal. desert eagle in my right hand. I heard running foot steps from behind me. "Oh shit here they come." As I turned around to notice that the red eyes were no longer there. Not paying much attention to it, I started running in the opposite direction from where the foot steps were coming from. An arrow zoomed right by my head, hitting a tree a head of me. A small tiny pain was coming from the side of my face, I ignored it cause I knew it was a small cut from the arrow as is grazed me. I grabbed the arrow as I passed it, noticing that the tip was dipped in something "Poison...great, just what I need." Leaves were falling from the trees, I heard deep growling coming from up in the trees. I didn't need to look cause I already knew what they were....goblins. Every few times a net or rope would be thrown at me. They were trying to capture me, for what reason I have no idea why. That still remains a mystery to me, they've been hunting me for the past two hundred years. These thoughts of why they're trying capture me stirs around in my head as I'm running. In my head I hear a scratchy, hissy voice, You've got no where to run, we'll get you, there is no escape from us.
A sharp pain hits my back shoulder as I'm running. I quickly look to see what it is. No longer than four inches, a knife had pierced my skin. I tried to pull it out but I tripped on a something before I could. The whole world to be in slow motion as I fell to the ground. My heart was beating fast, my breathing not even close to normal. I hit the ground hard, hearing a loud snap. I could barely open my eyes, everything was all blurry. "What are we gonna do with him, sir?"
I saw a dark figure walking up to me, kneeling down. The figure just looked at me not saying anything. Then it got got up and look at another figure. The last thing I heard before blacking out was, "We need to take it back to the boss, he'll want to speak with it..."
